How to Import Highlights from old Family Bible

Question

We have generations of Bibles from family members who have passed on.  Their (priceless) highlighted passages have been transcribed to passage lists. Given mobile users can't use Passage Lists and Visual Filters the same as on desktops, how can I get these imported for family use?

'Historically', your problem had two alternatives (besides, one-by-one). When Bibleworks folded, FL provided a BW notes import. Because Bibleworks notes format was pretty simple, one could use the BW import for other notes. The other alternative was simply moving all the notes into Personal Books, which then could be linked to Bibles (but only desktop).

I've preferred the latter since I keep my notes outside Logos, and I have gazillions (that display badly … icons … in Logos Bible text). I've always been shy of storing notes in an app (vs a cross-app format). I learned that lesson from my Dad's notes. Generations grow old quickly.

Rob, thank you for taking the time to comment. Because each bible has thousands of highlights, which we actually did transcribe into a passage list, trying to find a way to import them. In total, we have 7 bibles worth of passages (that took WAY too long) that we want to get imported resulting in nearly thousands of highlights. We are trying to find some way to import vs manually verses type them all in.

We did create a script to simply SQLite extraction of all highlights inside LOGOS from one parent who was a long time user, rendering bible, passage, highlight type, notebook name and notes… just need to find someway of getting them back in.

You could make a note book or notebooks anchor to the appropriate text and put the content in the body of the note. You would also be able to highlight the text as well and it will show up on the mobile app.
