Hi everyone,
I’m writing to request a transparent update from the Logos team regarding the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary (EEC) series.
I was an early supporter of this project, purchasing the full 44-volume set in April 2014. Now, 12 years later—and 17 years after the series was originally announced—my library contains 18 completed volumes.
While I appreciate the recent releases of 1–2 Kings and Ezekiel, the overall progress is difficult to overlook. There are still 26 volumes outstanding—more than half of the promised set.
With the recent acquisition of Lexham Press by Baker, and reports that Logos retains the rights to the EEC series, I’m seeking clarity on the following:
- The 44-Volume Commitment: Does Logos still intend to complete the full series as originally marketed and sold?
- Editorial Leadership: Who is currently overseeing the project to ensure the remaining volumes maintain the expected scholarly standards?
- 2026 Pipeline: Are there specific volumes in the final stages of production that we can expect to see released this year?
As someone who invested in the “digital-first” vision of this series over a decade ago, I would appreciate a more concrete roadmap than the current position of “no timeline available.”
Are there any other long-time owners who have received recent updates on the remaining volumes?
Thank you. 😃
