If you're still on Logos 7 or Logos 8, please read this before June 30, 2026.
We're retiring the system that delivers license information to older versions of the app. After June 30, if you're on Logos 7 or 8:
- You won't be able to download newly purchased books or resources, though you can still access them at app.logos.com.
- You won't be able to redeem activation codes that came with a physical installation disc or USB drive (but you can still redeem them at logos.com/redeem).
- You won't be able to install Logos 7 or 8 on a new device.
Your current books and resources will keep working normally on your existing installation of Logos 7 or Logos 8. This only affects new purchases and installations going forward.
What to do: Update the Logos app.
Option 1: Update the Logos app to the newest version.
The quickest and easiest way to update Logos is by running the installer at www.logos.com/install. This is a free update to the newest version of the code: You won’t lose anything, and you don’t need to buy anything.
Option 2: Update Logos from the app.
If you are running an older operating system, you may not be able to install the newest version of Logos from the link above. Depending on how old the operating system is, you may still be able to update to a newer version of Logos from inside the app.
In the command box (or, the “Go” box) at the top of the app, enter the command update now. This will update Logos to the newest version of the app that your operating system can install.
Option 3: Use the Logos web app.
Even if you aren’t able to update the Logos desktop app, you can always access your books in a browser at app.logos.com.
Option 4: Keep using Logos 7/Logos 8 as-is.
As a last resort, your existing Logos 7 or 8 installation should keep working for now. Remember that older versions of Logos aren’t supported. That doesn’t mean they’ll stop working right away, but it does mean that they don’t get bug fixes, and they aren’t eligible for technical support troubleshooting. And eventually things might stop working, such as the license service in this post. Over time other things may stop working, too, and we just can’t predict what or when that might be.
