@Andrew Batishko Thank you
got it
Are monographs included in a commentary search?
@Claude Brown Jr no, they are tagged differently.
Thanks, I get to make new collections. I already have a collection for every commentary on each book of the bible. Now I can create additional ones with just monographs. cool.
@Claude Brown Jr You probably didn't need to create individual collections for each Bible book. Logos automatically pulls any commentary that addresses your chosen passages. A lot of commentaries cover more than one book. Most people create commentary collections based on their characteristics, like whether they deal with the original languages, or they're devotional, practical, historical or whatever.
You will be disappointed if you want collections of monographs for Commentary purposes. You can identify candidates using type:monograph subj:(bible.O.T., bible.N.T.), of which I have only one that could be called a bible commentary i.e. "Pass It On: First and Second Timothy" by Mounce, and the majority do not have bible milestones.
Thanks, I am aware of the limitations that could lead to disappointment. I did the first one on Romans and got a very useful book by Keller that was not in the commentary list. Logos can still surprise me.
@Claude Brown Jr The only books by Keller that I see are commentaries, so they should be in your commentary list.
did you tag them or put them in a commentary collection?
interesting, since all 5 books by Keller on Romans (as far as available in Logos) seem to be type:bible-commentary. Of course he might have said something useful that pertains somehow to Romans (or NT exegesis, or Paul, or NT letters…) in any of his books.
I have Keller, T. (2017). Romans. In 90 Days in John 14–17, Romans, James (pp. 97–221). The Good Book Company. This book does not show up in the commentary search, although I just checked, it is tagged that way as a bible commentary.
This is my collection setup: Title:Romans,Subject:Romans AND TYPE:Monograph.
@Claude Brown Jr
what do you want this collection for?
how do you want to use it?
Part of the search for questions and illustrations to use in Sunday School presentations. I do one Bible book per week.
and how are you accessing this collection?
Through collections in guides
If I may offer a suggestion
I would go to the library, open the left panel and click on type:Bible commentary.
Then with that open, I would click on series
Then check each series to see if it is the type that gives illustrations, like Preach the Word, Teach the Text, Focus on the Bible
open the series and then a random book
then tag the whole series. Maybe illustration commentaries
Then go to your guide (I'm guessing the passage guide, click on ADD at the top, and then commentaries.
I will open at the bottom of your guide. click on settings on the right, find Illustration commentaries and click
then drag this collection to the top of the guide
When you find other commentaries that fit that category, tag them as illustration commentaries
If you find monographs with Illustrations, then tag them illustrations.
Go to add in the passage guide, and click on collections. Find illustrations or mytag:illustrations.
Then drag that to the top of your guide right under your commentary collection.

I sort of rediscovered the Information tool and am just sort of messing with it. Most of it is clear, but I have a question about the "Translation" part that can be in the Information tool. Specifically, is there a way to set the translation versions listed? Thank you for any help anyone is able to provide. Kristin
I am trying to highlight all instances of a specific word, which is turning into more of a production than it should be. The first reason is because when I try to select the word, it normally auto-selects the entire verse or sometimes even a few verses, and then I have to click a way and try to get rid of the selection…
@Rick Mansfield (Logos) Do you know if Logos has any plans to produce this resource or not? The first 3 volumes are great but they refer and point to material in the 4th volume… it is like having a commentary point to excurses you cannot access. It is frustrating and has been in PrePub since 2023… why it is even a PrePub…

I ocassionally find in my ESV that, years ago, I highlighted large body of text. I have no idea why. For example, I have no idea why I highlighted in blue, 10-15 verses in 2 Kings. But there it is. How do I find out what note that blue highlight is connected to? It is so annoying. I want to delete the highlighting. How do…
