Is there a way to make selecting a word easier?

Question

I am trying to highlight all instances of a specific word, which is turning into more of a production than it should be. The first reason is because when I try to select the word, it normally auto-selects the entire verse or sometimes even a few verses, and then I have to click a way and try to get rid of the selection tool and start over. Second, when it doesn't select the entire verse, it sometimes just opens everything in a new column, creating a new separate tab in a middle section, which then completely rearranges my Layout.

Regarding the first issue, is there a way to make it easier to select a word as opposed to it auto-selecting the whole verse or context?

Regarding the second issue, I am pretty sure there is nothing to do about this, since I have brought this up before. It happens if I try to select a word, but also if I try to just open a note. Instead of it recycling the open notes it creates an entire new column with one tab, which again demolishes my layout. In the past there hasn't been anything to do about this, and I have gotten pretty good at closing the Layout and re-opening it while maintaining eye contact with students. It isn't ideal, but it has helped a lot when the notes re-arrange my Layout. (One thing I should mention is that the reason that is an issue is because the new bogus column makes itself the priority and squeezes all the prior open columns into skinny 2-word wide columns, which is not functional).

Any help anyone has about these issues would be appreciated.

Hi @Graham Criddle, oh, ok. Tbh, I have always liked the little blue lines they make it it makes a very gentle lined paper, and then I eventually forgot that the blue lines meant something other than lined paper. Thank you for clarifying this, and I will turn off Factbook if it keeps opening to easily.

Opening Factbook is a different issue.

This is because you have Factbook markers enabled - indicated by the light blue underlines.

To control this, you need to use the Factbook Tags menu in the Formatting tag

Hi @Graham Criddle and @DMB,

I know this is a fast response after what I just wrote, but I am kind of unclear what is going on. I just tried double clicking and it worked, then triple clicking and it opened Factbook. I then opened Program Settings and it confirmed that triple click is selecting the paragraph. If I just click around, the double click works, but the triple click is random. Half the time it selects the paragraph, and half the time it opens Factbook.

I also had issues with it selecting multiple verses, which I kind of think is it recognizing clicks when I'm not clicking, or something, and is obviously related to the issue of the notes opening in new columns.

Actually, I want to show a screenshot of what happened when I double clicked on the "v" in "loaves" just now. As you can see, it is selecting a fairly random bloc. This is beyond "paragraph" (as triple click is), but this is multiple paragraphs, but not even cleanly since it starts with "o" in v 38 and ends with "v" in v 44 where I clicked. Further, it also brought up a little box talking about bread. I am not sure what this is though, and it might be from just hovering over the word?

Anyway, what it is doing in this screenshot is what kept happening when I kept trying to select a word to highlight it.
