How long, Oh, Lord, how long until we have a working Logos store? Remember when it used to work pretty well? Oh for the leeks and garlics of pre-Private Equity Takeover. Come back Bob!
Yep. Me and Logos.com were battling yesterday. I no longer have confidence my searches indeed work. I try to minimize its intrusions for a happier day.
@GaoLu thanks for posting. We really appreciate feedback and search is something we're working to improve. To explain a little bit of what you're seeing: 1 - The "owned" resources - those products at the top are "featured results" which means we manually tag them to show up for certain search queries. Unfortunately those featured results don't respect the filtering logic from the sidebar. We're working to fix this. (And for better or for worse, it has been like that since the "Bob days" 😉) 2 - I'll connect with the team about the study notes showing up in the Bible filter. Some people may find that helpful, and some won't. I'm not as familiar with what our standard is here, but I'll find out! @DMB If you have time to share some of your challenges, we would find that helpful. Thank you. We want Logos.com search to be part of your happy days!
@GaoLu I somewhere read the following comment, maybe it applies here, too:
But time may be our friend, and fiddling with someone else's 1's and 0's is an interesting exercise. I guess. It's like finding pleasure in poking a stick in the pond in the dark and rejoicing when we hit a fish.
@Celeste Fiorillo I don't know if the ball is in your court, but as mentioned before:
Remember when it used to work pretty well?
And then they improved it to what it is now. I no longer mind; I visit less and spend less.
I'm "courtside" for this one but I saw the team actively working on this Friday and today, it should be fixed shortly. Thank you!
On this issue I do have to agree with FL employee that featured resources have not played nicely the filters set since before private equity ownership. This issue existed in the Bob days. The grass was not always as green on the other side as we like to remember it. I Agee this needs to be fixed but it is a hangover from the Bob days.
Another hangover from Bob days is Logos marketing. Yes subscriptions have brought new concerns but it has been questionable even in the Bob days. I agree if you set a filter to show bibles then study bibles, bible notes or whatever they care to name them this week, should not show up
Bob wasn’t perfect but I do also agree this company is not what it once was now it is under new management. I struggle to find anything I can say has improved I’d much rather Logos without AI tools and subscriptions and instead have feature sets I can own for life.
@Celeste Fiorillo
These have been long-running and I'm guessing will continue their joys:
Now, on the plus side, I noticed the new(?) availability of the 'not' operator (a minus). Wow, that's a biggie.
I'm fascinated by my behavior (sorry) on Amazon. I generally type in an item's key words (or author's) to get in the ballpark. After that I use the 'similar' list at the bottom of the item's description. Other than the big menu in Amazon, that's it. And it works great. The new(?) site-entry of 'similar by type' lists are even better. I suppose Amazon has me nailed.
Maybe that explains my losing battle on Logos.com.
