The New Testament has tags of many types of figurative language. I would love it if this feature were added to the Old Testament. The Psalms and prophets are so rich with figures of speech.
I can find a few tags for Figures of Speech in the Old Testament, but they use a different naming system than the New Testament and many types of figures of speech are missing. For example, Hosea 6:3 labels divine "Condescension", but not the series of similes in lines 2, 3 and 4.
Where can I find a definition of the Figures of Speech labels in the Old Testament? For example, on Hosea 6:3, the Information window shows the following in the Figure of Speech section:
- Description: Condescension
- Name: Anthropopatheia
It appears that this applies "Condescension" to the whole verse. I can see it in Hosea 6:3, but not in verses 6-9, which describe human sin.
