Possible Bug: 4.0d RC-1 NET Noteless not showing up, licenses in place, etc.

I'm running 4.0d, RC-1 and I have the NET Bible/notes and noteless package.

Though it's unlocked and I physically have the files, it doesn't show in my library. The only files that show in my library are:

The NET Bible

The NET bible notes

Missing is: GS_Noteless.lbllx

go to the download page and download the notes and see if your logos install detects them...

I downloaded this from the FTP site. Since I do not have L3 installed anymore I downloaded it to a directory and then set L4 to scan that directory and restarted L4. It did not install the program. I checked my Netbook which has 4.0c loaded and the file does not show there either.

I am assuming since I have the Net Bible and the Net Bible Noteless that I am supposed to have just the notes as well. Is that accurate? I have the L4 Platinum base package.

If you purchased the "package" that was "net with notes and without notes" then yes...you should have a separate note file.

As you saw...mind was accidentally hidden...your's isn't by any chance?

I checked and it was not hidden. I do not recall purchasing a special package for the "Net with notes and without notes". I guess I assumed that if I the Net Bible and the Net Bible without notes I would also have the note file.

To my knowledge, you cannot purchase the NET Bible by itself from Logos. When you purchased the NET Bible, you automatically get both the Notes and Noteless versions of the NET Bible. You also get the Notes as a stand-alone kind of commentary to be used with other bibles. I would just redownload the file.

I got my NET Bible somewhere along the way as part of an upgrade to a base package. But I was missing the standalone notes, too. So I downloaded the file, but found it was still not recognized by L4. It was locked in L3, so I couldn't even do sync licenses. I still haven't gotten around to calling Customer Service about it, but I suspect that's what it will take. My Sales Rep did find out for me that since I owned NET Bible I was entitled to the standalone notes as well. So I trust it's just a question of that file mistakenly not having been unlocked by the base package license it should have been included with. I bet a lot of people are affected by this and few have noticed, since they have access to the notes within the Bible itself. But it would be nice to be able to open the notes in a full panel window and link it with the Bible and scroll them together so that you don't have to click on every footnote marker to read the entire note. (The Power Lookup tool only shows the first so many characters, but a lot of the NET Bible notes are longer than the cutoff.)

This maybe does not add much to whats been said, but maybe helps a little ...

I purchased the NIV, NET, NA27 and not much else at first, and thats all I had for a while. With that, I got all three of the NET resources: Bible+Notes, Bible, just Notes.

I expect, the NET "product" has all three licenses, but the one in the packages does not have the "just Notes" license included.

Not sure if thats intended, or an error. When I went to the NET Bible web site some time back, most every package type of it was a free download, except for the ones with the full Notes included. For that, they charge a small fee to help cover the costs of their project.

So maybe, the Notes are NOT free, and it was never intended for them to be thrown in with the package deals?
