The new sections are most welcome. Thanks for your efforts, Steve.
And thanks for introducing the new convention of "new!" and "updated!" -- that's very helpful. I'll try to remember to add those flags to my content when appropriate. How long should we leave a "new!" or "updated!" flag on there before it's no longer relevant?

Ummm! Well ... Errrr
How about waiting until the next update?
By doing that.....updated or new....would never disappear. It is updated now. 2 years later I update again. I need to remove the updated but I need to add it back for the new update I just did.
My idea here would be.....new for 3-6 months and updated....1-3 months.

I mean if there's a newly created page on the wiki (not necessarily a new feature in the product), how long is it still a "new" page? I might update it again the next day, but it's still new to people who haven't checked the wiki in the past week or so. As for the "updated" flag, if we leave it up there until the next update of that page, then it will need to say "updated" again and it will always say "updated" which makes that flag meaningless. We wouldn't want the wiki to be like the Logos "new products" page which lists everything that's been released in the past five years or something like that. It's unwieldy because nobody has removed items that are no longer "new" from it.
my thoughts were for 1 month. Then i was going to go back through those and remove mine. Figure a month was long enough for others to have a chance to view wiki pages. And hopefully would have newer pages which showed New/Updated. Thought that too many of these would clutter link pages (IMHO).
also i do not intend to add these to pages (i've built) unless there are significant changes. (e.g. Not to: typos, rewording, etc. But to: new sections, significant enhancement for understanding, etc). New pages would not need them, but the links on the TOC/etc could have them. (just my thoughts on how i planned to proceed)
i have added these to others pages. But if they do not want them, they are welcome to remove them and i will refrain from intruding.
These images are found on the TOC:

I couldn't decide so I gave a [:P] answer! At least it avoids the "new products" issue[:)]
I think a month would be short enough to not annoy frequent visitors and to not matter to new ones. You can't please people who may visit the site less frequently looking for "new" features but you can state that the status is revised every month.
but you can state that the status is revised every month.
Is this what you had in mind? (see TOC)
Perhaps it would be good to leave the current links there for a month from today, since the message was just posted for the duration period.
If others think this is too short, we have a month to decide and change the message. ???
Edit: btw, was thinking that the month pertained to the time from when a specific link was marked as 'New' or 'Updated'. Comments welcome.

A minimum of a month seems good. If someone forgets and leaves a label up too long it isn't going to harm anything. If anyone notices a label seems to have been around a long time, you can always check the History tab to find out when it was added and remove it if it's been up at least a month or so.

That's fine. We can edit articles by other authors on that clear basis.
Can we possibly have someone take another look at this please? From what I can tell on the comparisons page, the text comparison is now available in all base packages.
However, I am still experiencing the same issues as others have posted in the forum. The text comparison function is enabled. However, the buttons to allow for displaying the % difference as well as the base text comparisons are not even available.
Any ideas?
Please don't ask the same question in several threads at once. It just complicates things, especially as this thread is meant for giving feedback on the Wiki page. I just answered you at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/4888/406723.aspx#406723.
Ouch FGH. Touchy, Touchy! Just delete my post if it bothers you that badly. My post to this forum was in respect to the content of the Wiki which at the time I felt was incorrect as the image that was posted at the top showing the base packages that were included in the text comparison utility was different from what I was seeing on the logos.com website (which is why I also included an updated image in my post). I believe this still holds to be true.
However, I now understand from the other post in which you so graciously provided a cross reference to that this particular functionality within the text comparison tool may actually be more accurately refered to as "visual comparisons" and not merely "text comparisons", and that particular functionality seems to not be included as the wiki page suggests.
So, in closing, YOU'RE WELCOME for my efforts in keeping you guys in line. ;-) <--That's sarcasm
