Request: Finer-grained font-size settings

I have recently purchased a Macbook Pro running at 1920x1200 on a 17" screen.  I find that I have to turn the fonts up quite far to get to a comfortable reading level.  The issue I'm facing is that the top 3 "notches" of the font-size thingy (not sure what it's called) increase the font size in increasingly large jumps.  The result is that I cannot get the exact font-size that I want - it's either too small or huge.

The screenshots below show my dilemmma (the screenshots are from the Mac version - a21 but the same issue arises on the Windows version - which I run inside Parallels desktop).

It would be great if there were a small button to the right of the large A button that, when clicked, showed a pop-up that allows a user to enter a font size in points - that would allow the existing UI to remain largely unchanged as well as add the flexibility for finer-grained control over font sizes.  As it stands now I can't get to a font-size that is comfortable.

Thanks for any consideration this request might receive.

Remember you have program scaling as well, which increases the size of everything, including the fonts. You can set this in the command line, so you could use your first example and set program scaling to 107%, or your second and set program scaling to 94% (numbers made up, obviously, but choose what works).

    Hi Mark,

Yes, I'm aware of the program scaling option... it works sort of okay on Windows except that it scales the entire UI and not just the text.  Also, program scaling doesn't work on Mac (at least not as of Alpha 21).

I'm still routing for finer-grained control over font sizes, though.  It shouldn't be a difficult change to implement and I think (in my usually humble way :-) ) that it would increase Logos' usability - at least for those of us running at high resolutions.

The exponential curve upon which the font-sizes are based is once
again causing frustration.  On my new Macbook Pro with both the Windows
and Mac versions I end up making the font quite large (resolution at
1900x1200 on a 17" laptop) - but the 3rd last "notch" in the font size
slider is too small for comfort, while the second last and last
"notches" are huge, with the jump in size between the 3rd last "notch"
and the second last being really big.

I would like to, humbly I
hope, resubmit my request for a small button that pops up a dialog with a
text field allowing a font-size (in points or something) to be entered
so that the font size can be more finely specified.

    Thank you for
any consideration this request might receive.
