Notes and Sync Time

Situation: I have, create, and use LOTS of notes (and pbly a large Note File) for reference, hyperlink to resources, outside PDFs, etc.
So, when I create a note, system set to "Use Internet," there's lots of stuttering, pausing, hesitation. (Desktop is quad-core, 8gb RAM, 1gb Video, plenty of horses)
Does L4 sync the entire Notes File each time I add/edit a note? If this is the case, wouldn't it be better to not Use Internet and sync on demand?
Or, is there a better direction for working with Notes on an ongoing, regular part of using L4?
Thanks . . .

I am not sure what the software protocol is regarding your question on how much of your note file is synced each time. Lag in notes has been an ongoing issue (you can search other threads and see the same problem) however it has improved since the first release of L4.
My experience has been an increase in lag when I have a large number of resources open, or if I have a lot of stuff going on with highlighting and/or visiual filters. I try to keep open only what I am actually using and turn off unnecessary highlighting and visual filters I don't need at that time. I do not have many note files with external hyperlinks so I can't say how they may impact performance. Turning off the internet and syncing on demand may be of help as well.
As I stated above, this is an issue where we have seen improvement and I am confident it will continue to get better.

You may have hit something with my workflow as I typically have several resoures open, going back and forth, reading, annotating, comparing, citing . . . I'm going for the Internet Off mode and see if that helps . . .

Yes. So if you make frequent changes you can switch off Use Internet and use the command Sync Now when you are ready (this does a one-off Sync).
