to make a link stick
How to Make A Link Stick
- Select a nice piece of a small branch
- Cut back any side branches and make it nice and smooth
- Sharpen one end into a nice pointy bit
- Now, using great care ...
- Poke the link to see if its dead
(Be careful of links that are not actually dead, but are maybe sick or injured. Some links can be harmful, so take care out there.)

Every post that has some disclaimer or plea to disregard by a forum regular just begs to be read. It's like putting up a wet paint sign; it tempts one to touch the wall.
I don't know about you, but I don't touch wet paint on purpose. Mind you, I've done it by mistake. But when I see the warning signs, I take heed.

Ooh, sounds like we need a course on Self-Defense Against Pointed Sticks! [:)]
Actually when you started talking about taking a branch and cutting it to make a link stick, I thought you were on your way to describing something like this: http://www.littleshavers.com/Chains.html, or more simply a chain made out of bent soft twigs linked together.

Heh, heh. Well, I guess I can believe that. I know that caution tape and saw horses around wet pavement on sidewalks is definitely counter-productive. It's an invitation to "leave your hand prints and initials here!" On the other hand, if they didn't put it up, people would step into it unknowingly with all their weight and really ruin it. At least the hand prints and other permanent marks people decorate with are usually harmless.

I thought that this thread died last weekend.
Now, I come back after being gone all day and I find it is alive and well - thriving in fact.
I guess, I really do need to believe in the resurrection.

I would just like to point out, for the record, that I have resisted posting to this thread. I simply can not support frivolous posting.
I recommend we kill this thread and start a new one talking about the thread we just killed. In fact, I recommend that Logos start a new forum for threads talking about other threads, and how those other threads should never have been started.
0 -
Philip,
Are you sure about that.....We should start a thread to discuss the setting up of a new forum that has threads talking about other threads on how the first threads should have never been started in the first place.
After all we are voting for what we want logos to do. Maybe instead of the thread to discuss a new forum we ought to just post it on user voice to see if a new forum is actually needed. Maybe just a thread to see how we can stop posting to threads that say testing:Disregard or a similiar flavor thread in the first place.

I think we all need to join CFPA as soon as possible. (Compulsive Forum Posters Anonymous.) Only we won't be anonymous because all our names are scattered all over this thread. But we all know about http://wiki.logos.com/Changing_Forum_Display_Name, I'm sure... [:)]

That proves you really are a dog, then. Creatures always find the young of their own kind irresistable. They need to be that way; otherwise they wouldn't take care of their young. (But I must admit, it is pretty cute!)

We met a dog like that last week. We had taken our dog to the park (on a leash, as required). We have a semi-small shiu-tsu(sp?) that is usually well-behaved. Somebody had brought their elephant of a dog without a leash. The two got along fine - for all of thirty seconds - until the big dog spotted the bowl of dog food and water (it was a two-sided bowl) and decided it was time for his dinner. He began eating our dogs dinner. All we do could was stare until the owner put their dog on his leash (yep, they had it, just did not use it). Our poor dog was obviously traumatized for the rest of the evening.
I would have liked to shrunk THAT dog!!!???

This used to be a nice little thread about nothing, and its gone to the dogs!
Can't we get back to important things like Pointed Sticks?

I could launch into a shaggy dog story, but the plain unvarnished truth will have to do. We "rescued" Sam, as he was then, when he was 19 months old. Within a couple of weeks, my wife, an inveterate name-mangler and add-oner (have you ever heard of people who play golf being called golfists before?) had attached the -wise the Brave add-on; so we are stuck with it, as he has become hobbituated to it.
Call him Sam and the tail droops and the ears go back.
Call him Samwise and he perks up and wags his tail.
Call him Samwise the Brave and he comes right up to be petted!
Honest!
Every blessing
Alan

My dogs are bilingual, Albanian and English, tho they have a selective understanding of Albanian when I give them an order they don't see why they should obey... Tho when I ask: Do you understand Albanian?, they get the message eventually and reluctantly condescend to do what I tell them... And we have the occasional misunderstanding. I thought they understood "Kennel", till I moved their kennels, and they tried to go back to the place where their kennels used to be.... They're shaggy dogs too, particularly Andi, the one in the picture. He'd be most surprised to discover he'd been to America....

This is absolutely amazing! I have all forum emails sent to my Gmail account, and for the first 60 replies or so to this thread, I did what Rosie said do and disregarded it (deleted it) without viewing the thread content. But every time someone replys, the thread reappears in my inbox! [:)] So after 2 days my curiosity finally got the best of me, and I have to admit it is so nice to see everyone enjoying communicating with each other on the forum this way. I have found nothing else like this place on the Internet. After my home family and my church family, I have finally found another one here!

So let me get this straight.
Rosie wants me to disregard Junk (but who would clean it up?)
David found a family here (Hi Dave, please pass the salt)
George is advocating rebellion (What's next George a mandate to read an RI?)
Floyd is trying to figure it out (nothing unusual here)
And Philip is upset that we hijacked his hijacked thread?
I'd say things are getting normal here.
Where's Damian?

I see in this thread a reconcilation, it was mentioned about dogs.Yesterday I wanted to buy something from a kiosk something and a dog of the owner was at the gate of the door I asked to the owner, that I was not able to get into the house ,aslong as the dog was there ,he said it doesn't harm,I said again, please ,finally him he removed the dog from the gate and I could come into the house,so for me all I understand is ,the need of reconcilation.
Blessings in Christ.
