correct. neither does vol. 4.
Dude you are like so 6 months old on this and I have been begging Logos to change it for months. Doesn't the metadata have to be corrected before it will show up in parallel resources (it isn't listed as a dictionary)?
Doesn't the metadata have to be corrected before it will show up in parallel resources (it isn't listed as a dictionary)?
If you are reading a "titled" article, parallel resources will appear containing dictionaries which contain that article.
You're right - I didn't even think to check that. I wrongly assumed the parallel resources wouldn't show at all if it was type monograph. It ought to be added to the wiki: http://wiki.logos.com/Metadata_correction_proposals- don't have time right now. I'll do it tonight if no-one beats me to it!
I thought it used to be. Now it just says it needs a series tag.
Have ANY of the metadata correction proposals been incorporated into Logos?
There's a (small) section down the bottom which details those that have. It's much slower than I'd like, though, especially as some of them are very minor typos.
According to that section, the metadata has already been changed for EOC right? I could have sworn that for a little while, maybe a few months back, EOC worked right when I was using PC Beta. Did it revert back or did I miss something?
We are in the process of doing a bit of an upgrade to the Dictionaries, Encyclopedias and Lexicon Types. We will communicate clearly what has changed, as soon as everything is ready, since it could upset user collections.
I am not trying to be antagonistic because I probably just don't realize what goes into changing metadata, but why does it take months for Logos to change them?
You are right that the metadata could change people's collections. That is why I do my collections manually. But if the metadata is corrected, people should get the right books in their collections now. Using formulas is going to put you at the mercy of Logos' metadata chief.
Will Logos ever be able to assign multiple metadata labels to a book?
I don't see how fixing something tagged wrong would upset user collections. In most cases, it's not being included in collections that it should be in, or else it has been added manually.
In this case, a dictionary that has the wrong type is broken and is missing functionality. That should be a higher priority than collections I believe.
I do appreciate that an overall dictionary upgrade is being done--thanks for that info--it's just that the EoC has been broken since the release of Logos4. So we've been waiting a while.
