NIV outside Americas?

So with Logos forming a new partnership with Zondervan will I be able to buy the NIV living outside the Americas? If I buy the big Zondervan collection I'd have several commentary series based on the text of the NIV, maybe they could throw it in for free

Good point. If someone outside America buys Logos now, will they get the NIV translation included? Hope so.

Good point. I am hoping with this new partnership, that the Zondervan Bibles: NIV, TNIV, and NIrV will be available to international customers. The above bibles are contained in the Scholar's Gold & various packages from Logos but due to licensing restriction, international customers have no access to them.

I already posted this somewhere on the forum. It is currently on eBay and the UK seller will ship worldwide for those of you in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa.... Search eBay for it with this title:" COMPLETE HOLY BIBLE (NIV - ANGLICISED) ON CD ROM FOR PC "
This is Libronix format and since it is the Anglicized spelling I assume is licensed for use outside of North America. (It would be rather silly if it weren't.)Logos 7 Collectors Edition

Thanks Matthew.
How ironic an American brother telling a UK customer where in the UK to purchase the Anglicized NIV. [:D]
Thanks again for the info - it will be( NIV) arriving shortly to me by post. Ted

So does anyone know if we live outside of America and bought a collection that included the NIV Bible, if we're entitled to getting that now?

We're currently working to offer American versions of the NIV to folks outside of North America. We hope to announce a solution soon.

I have the Anglicised NIV as pictured above on this forum, and it is available from various UK sellers although some suggest it is in the process of being reprinted. However, one piece of advice the copy available on CD-Rom is currently version 2 which works fine apart from the fact there are some typo's in the footnotes section. However, once your licence is purchased if you update your resources via the logos ftp site rather than the inbuilt update option, you will be able to get an updated corrected version.
Best wishes.

Can you please let all your international customer know when the NIV will be available within Logos? Thanks very much.

2009... 2013.. So that's probably not going to happen then?
I can hear it in my mind, with a southern american accent: "You heathen foreigners! You can't read our American, Christian, Bibles" [H]
Given the name, new international version, this is just too ironic. [:D] (and irony is one of those things that makes life richer)

Hi Sakarias, I think the US version of the NIV has been and gone in that time.
I bought my first Logos base package in August 2011. I live outside the US, and I received the (US) NIV 2011 as part of my base package. I think it was sometime after I'd bought my base package that Logos was no longer able to supply the US NIV to customers outside of the US.
Have you come across the NIV Anglicised Version (which is based on the 1984 NIV text - which many people prefer), which is available to Logos users outside the US?

Actually I was looking for TNIV yesterday, but it seems to have been retired along with the old NIV when the 2011 version was released. Of course, even if it had not been, I would most likely not have been permitted to purchase it. I'll probably go for the English version eventually, but it is not that important right now. I certainly do enjoy the irony though.
On another topic, I´ve always thought the restriction was due to a legal issue, something like Zondervan making sure that they could sue anyone who used the NIV "Incorrectly". However, given that the English NIV is not available to the yanks, it seems that I was wrong, and this is not a legal issue but one of revenues. Zondervan might be securing revenues from american sales, while Hodder and Stoughton are securing what is left outside America. If this is the case, it could certainly have been done by other means, but I think it is close to a reasonable explanation.

Im struggling to work this out. Currently Australians can't buy 2011 UK nor the 2011 US. LOL or WTF?
