Vowel point sensitive search in Hebrew?

Hi,
I'm trying to perform a vowel point sensitive search in the BHS. Is this possible with Logos 4?
I'm used to being able to do this with other software.
Thanks,
Mike

Bump.
I just realized this has not been answered. I don't know much about searching in Hebrew, so I can't help. Someone else has been asking recently, too, so I thought I'd revive a couple of these old threads that hadn't been answered and hope someone else educates me.

In Hebrew the pointing changes according to such things as whether a word is in pause so it would seem that the best you can do is to do a morph search for the proper form. If it isn't a word which appears a gazillion times in whatever form you are seeking, you probably won't have too much trouble finding what you want. To illustrate my point, I have a general note file which is the only note file I have open for all resources which lists Gen 18.25 since it seems to have such an anomalous form. It is לָּךְ which would appear to have a feminine suffix, but since it is in pause it is actually masc (לְךָ).

Thank you for pointing that out. I was not aware that when I search for דַעַת I get דָעַת as well.

Naturally. It is so elementary. I hope someone up there is looking through these posts because the Hebrew search capabilities at the moment are a disgrace and these posts are always ignored by Logos' staff and left for the MVP's (who do a tremendous job BTW but customers deserve to hear a response from the company as well)

What you are actually telling him is to do the search manually: i.e. to go through the results and choose what ever pointing he wants.
BTW that example you gave of Gen 18:25 is the perfect example. Suppose I want to find all these occurences like Gen 3:18 4:6 4:12 etc. In Bibleworks I cannot do that because they use Westminster which tags them as feminine. In Logos I have WIVU which tags them as masculine but because of this limitation they cannot be searched and assembled together. If we were able to search a certain voweled form and match it to morphological criteria like gender we would have been much better off. Wouldn't you say?

i was trying to do a "vowel sensitive" hebrew search today but i could not. i searched for older forum posts dealing with this and found what is above - is it still the case that a vowel sensitive search in hebrew is impossible?
thank you

I would say that Logos does a relatively decent job of searching in Greek and that the search form is more geared to Greek. It is certainly not "Hebrew-friendly."
