My troubles have been building for a month or so now. I would appreciate anyone's assistance. Please let me know if you can help:
- I am pastoring in Australia and have a capped 5GB download per month, so I had my L4 auto-update turned off. It was crashing and then after some investigation I realized I was running 4.0a and that I should upgrade to 4.0d. With the internet turned on, Logos 4 then tried to download 7GB of content, which I stopped. Instead I requested the DVD media be mailed to me.
- Somehow I was able to upgrade to 4.0d before the DVD arrived last week, but it did not have all of my resources. It had Gold level resources, but I had upgraded to Platinum. This seemed to fix the initial crashing problem.
- When the DVD arrived I proceeded to run the Logos 4 setup. It then downloaded another 1GB of content, which I allowed this time.
- After this download, it started indexing but crashed the cpu. Now as soon as my computer turns on, Logos 4 starts to index again, but always crashes. I have tried this a dozen times the last two days.
- If I pause the indexing, then I can run Logos 4 fine, except my Greek morphological visual filters are all skewed (i.e. underlining parts of words or multiple words with the wrong parts of speech). I assumed this was because the indexing was incomplete.
- Also, I had been inadvertently using two Logos accounts on my computer - one associated with my wife's email and one with mine. I have since deleted her account and all of the Logos 4 folders associated with it. This deletion removed the old index file.
Should I uninstall and then reinstall only from the DVD? If so, will I have to download more content from the internet?
Here are the specs of my computer: Lenovo T61 Thinkpad, 4GB RAM, Core 2 Duo 2.50Ghz Processor, Windows Vista Business OS, I have 16GB free out of a 140GB hard drive (that includes the Logos resources already installed).
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
