This is Great!
Now we can use the whole screen when viewing a map!
Notice no ribbon on the top and no ribbon of icons on the bottom.
Autohide is a nice feature. Totally agree.
My first response when I just tested it: "That's Beautiful!"
My wife and two daughters just looked at me like I was a moron.
I get that a lot.
There ya go, beauty is in the eye of the beholder
How ? I can find no what to invoke auto-hide ?
F11, opens to full screen (may take a second or 2)
Then move your mouse to the top of the full screen, the top ribbon will drop down. Ditto on the bottom ribbon icon row.
Andrew put the mouse in the middle of the screen. Make sure the tab is selected.

Thanks Steve, I'm sure you must of pressed a button to get it working on my install because I had it on full screen and it was the same old biblical places not matter what I did or where I left my mouse cursor, but working now.

Nope was working but I then couldn't get it work again, it would not work until I clicked in the middle of screen after moving to the top of the screen. The bottom ribbon seems more responsive in auto-hiding than the top ribbon, I'm finding it very unpredictable in whether or not it wants to play.

You are right, had to close it and open it again to reproduce what you were seeing. Evidently once open it remembers that i had clicked (scrolled to zoom actually).

When it wants to play it also works with Biblical Things and Biblical People.
Hmm. I'm getting the opposite Andrew, it's very responsive.
I wonder if it's because I'm working with an ATI 4670 1GB video card? What have you got on yours?
what location do you have in the Find box?
i am using Great Sea. The top bar drops pretty quick. i cannot tell a difference in speed between the Top or Bottom. (my computer is kinda slow, so i am surprised that you would have more response issue)
ATI Radeon 4800 Series 1 GB video card.... maybe it's just the user than needs breaking in.. but got to run for now have a lecture starting half hour, but its only three minute drive to college.. have fun all...
There is a note in the Release notes that may address this issue.
Information and gallery panes auto hide in Reading View. (Note: If the focus is in the People/Places/Things textbox when reading view is executed, the top panel won’t auto hide until the focus is placed in the body of the panel.)

Thanks Trey, as I was playing before I had to run, did have time to fully digest the release notes. This makes sense of what I was experiencing.
Wow! this is MEGA COOL.....I love it!
Works very well. The Places (maps) and Things jump out at you. It's a pity Biblical People does not scale.
Very nice! I too overlooked the note in the release notes about having to put the focus in the panel itself instead of the edit control first. That isn't something that people would intuit, I think. So it's probably going to cause some to never discover this wonderful feature. I would think most people would leave the focus where it is by default and not be inclined to click anywhere else unless there was a message somewhere telling them to do so.
