I was trying to show a friend how to right-click search in Logos for MAC (latest update) and he gets no results no matter what we try to search for. Any ideas why?
Michael,
I'm a windoze user but if you'd provide a screen shot or more discription of what you are doing exactly...where you are doing it..and all the particulars...I'm sure someone could help...
The settings in
– System Preferences – Mouse – Secondary Click
might have some bearing?
Michael
It is just possible that you have been caught out by something that caught me out the other day. After upgrading to the latest version I wanted to do a simple search for a verse I know well but just couldn't quite remember the reference. So I thought that I would do a search for it by typing in a couple of the words. Imagine my surprise when I got no results! [:O]
I was about to shoot off a post to tell Logos about a regressive bug in their latest release! [:@]
I did a screenshot for them, when suddenly I noticed a problem. The Basic search button was down. So, I clicked on the Bible button and ran the search again. Still no results. I was just about to post my bug complaint, when I re-examined the search and noticed that my search parameters were set to search through only one book of the Bible (as that must have been my last Bible search). I reset for the whole Bible and ran my search again – and it worked! [:)]
Moral of this tale: make sure your search type is set for the search you want to do and the parameters are set for the resources you want to search. I'm glad I didn't shoot off that bug post. Otherwise everyone would know how daft I'd been and I'd never live it down. [:$]
Every blessing
Alan
My mistake - looking into it more - my friend had not run a recent update. After indexing, the search worked fine. Thanks for the help guys.
