When I first loaded Beta 1 on my desktop, my time for indexing was almost 30 hours (Loud Groan). At that time I had a DuoCore 2.4 processor and 2 gig of memory. That first week I upgraded my memory to 8 gig and saw some improvement in my indexing time. I had removed the Beta 1 from my laptop because I couldn't have it bogged down, as I needed it for work.
This week I upgraded my desktop processor to a Q9650 3Gz processor and was amazed at how much faster the indexing was. I currently have in Logos 4, 7564 resources listed in the Library. I went from 9 hours and 40 min with my DuoCore to 6 hours and 32 min with my QuadCore, that's 3 hours shaved off of the indexing time!
I then reloaded Beta 5 on my laptop which orginally got about the same time for indexing as my destop, It has a 2.5 Gz DuoCore with 4 gig of memory. The total time for indexing the identical library is 9 hours and 55 min.
It seems as though the indexing really takes advantage of the QuadCore to shorten the indexing time.
