Strategy for Handling Updates

Seems like there is a fair amount of updating in Logos. No big deal, but if the update is followed by an indexing, it pretty much ties up the computer's resources until finished. My question is do you simply leave Logos up and running so that this gets done while you do something else? I can switch to my Windows box via RDC (but then I'll end up running the update there for L4 before returning to the Mac).

I have heard this from others, but indexing does not seem to have a great effect on system operations, but then, I do have 11GB of RAM.

I do. The Indexer and L4 are separate applications. Quitting L4 should not stop the Indexer, if my memory is correct.

Since I have just 2GB, I'll just find something else to do. The Activity Monitor mostly shows one massive green rectangle while it churns with the indexer and L4M going.

One of the most cost-effective upgrades for practically any computer is the addition of RAM. 2GB on OS X makes everything pretty cramped. If you search the internet, you can find some good deals on RAM from reputable dealers.
