Community pricing questions

1. About Logos CP page:

"Regardless of the maximum price you would pay for a title, when that title covers its production costs all of the Community Pricing orders will be entered at the same best price"

1. Why then doesn't every one just bid the maximum price for a CP item ?

2. About Logos CP page:

" The Logos customer base is large enough that if everyone would pay as little as $5 or $10 almost any title could be produced."

2. Why then doesn't Logos produce EVERY book under the CP system?

Because not everyone is willing to pay the maximum price. For example, I bid $75 for Barnes (not quite maximum, but close). I know, however, that not everyone is as excited as I am about the possibility of Barnes being published. My advice has always been, "Bid what each CP title worth to you."

Because some books need a minimum price to cover the cost of royalties to the publisher or copyright owner. There are some public domain works I think should have been offered by CP - but I expect that LOGOS is buying the text from an earlier publisher and thus owes them royalty payments. This is my guess - but an educated guess.
