Choice: Prepubs or Happy Wife

I had to make a decision today between my wife having major dental surgery ($1800) or following through with my numerous prepub orders.

I tried to convince my wife that I should get to purchase almost $2000 in books, but she didn't go for that.  So, I will have to get the resources at a later date.

I am keeping those I bought off the Community Pricing page - but the one that hurts the most is the Anchor Yale Bible Reference Library.

By the way, it wasn't really a hard decision - I am blessed with the wife I have.  Last year she was understanding when I upgraded to Platinum and purchased the NIC at the same time.

Just wanted to share.

Ron

Does the Hebrew say, "Even  better  to  live  on  a  corner  of  the  roof   WITH NO BOOKS  than  to  share  a  house  with  a  quarrelsome  wife"?

hmmmm, only responding to your actual thread title:

    • Logos can sanctify you through study and keep you pure till heaven
    • you are not given in marriage in heaven
    • your angry wife can put you on a  "faster path" to heaven . . .

= buy Pre-pubs and meet Jesus sooner!  (that is great gain, according to Paul!)

    Ronald,

You did the right choice.  But according to my math you may still have ~$200 worth of books to get!

I suspect many of us can commiserate and celebrate right along with you Ronald.  I've canceled a few prepubs myself this month.  [:'(]

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

May the Lord bless you.  My wife has also been long-suffering and patient with my long list of purchases. Here is hoping the release gets delayed or offered on a payment plan. Is that hoping for too much?.

Maybe the 12 Days of Logos sale will culminate with a "snag your biggest wish at the Pre-Pub price" sale.   I'm full of ideas.

    Good call Ron.

It is certain;y MY favorite. While she was posting that, I was sitting in the same room clicking away as fast as I can to create a snapshot to take advantage of Dan's Plan. I am 2/3rds done and I can quote a famous line from Ringo Starr and mean it. At the end of the 26 minute first take of "Helter Skelter"  we hear Ringo scream, "I've got blisters on my fingers!"  Who'd 've known mouse clicking could hurt?

If you use G00gle translate, Nina's quote in French is  "Carte Blanche"    [:P] (& Nina uses the French pronunciation of her name)

I let my wife know last night that she had bought me the NICOT/NICNT set for Christmas. I thanked her very much. [<:o)]

So, I will have to get the resources at a later date.

Perhaps Dan Pritchett's offer on this thread might help you: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/24112.aspx?PageIndex=1

Thanks for the link.  I'm going to do just that.

I continue to be amazed at how well Logos responds to customer concerns.  I know of no other company that is this attune to their customers.

    Ron

I don't know why Logos doesn't just lower their prices on all books to make them more affordable.  We are living in tough times.  People are losing their jobs.  Everyday low(er) pricing will lead to more sales in the long run.  When prices are too high, people don't buy.  Plus, it can't be good for Logos when people cancel their pre-orders and they are on the hook for the balance.  It does no good to have a library of 10,000 books if people can't afford them.
