Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology - Any chance of getting the updated version?

Are there any plans to provide the updated version of the Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology by Baker? I dont want to buy this one when I have a hard copy of the more recent one and might face an upgrade cost down the track.

I have the old version, purchased from Logos in February of THIS YEAR. I don't remember if it was a pre-pub or not . . . I assume it was . . . if it was, it begs the question: why did they release the OLD version, when the new one has been out since 2001? sigh. A secondary question is: what articles where deleted on this new version (per the description on Amazon) and why?

It seems that the Baker Dictionary of Biblical Theology is out of print now and I couldn't see any plans for Baker to update or revise it.
the Dictionary of Theology is a completly different work and the prepub is for the 2nd edition which is the latest.

No problem. You fell victim to one of the classic blunders (the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia").

Yes, but only slightly less known is: "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line" hahhahahahahhahahahahhaha. boink.
But, is is REALLY out of print? After a second revision in 2001? Already? Where did you get that info, Bobby?

And if you do get involved anyway, nuke 'em.

Actually I think this whole thread is making the "classic blunder", i.e. confusing the two books. I can't find anywhere that says the Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology has a second edition. The Evangelical Dictionary of Theology, on the other hand, does have a second edition--from 2001. They are different books.
The Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology is not listed on the bakerbooks.com website anymore, and the Amazon entry (http://www.amazon.com/Evangelical-Dictionary-Biblical-Theology-Reference/dp/0801020492) only lists a 1996 edition that is only available used.

lol, a new, slightly less known blunder . . .
You are correct. That could explain how some think they can sell the out of print EDBT for 137 dollars. Geesh.
hmmm, let me blame my error on Baker not being more creative and differentiating of their cover design. Even IF they used the big block letters "B-I-B-L-I-C-A-L" where the other had none.

NOOOOOOO, Mr. DeVilder, it begs the question: Why don't you get your facts straight before you implicitly malign the integrity of a terrific Software Company!!!"

The EDBT is available for free on several bible study websites.
http://www.biblestudytools.com/Dictionaries/BakersEvangelicalDictionary/And it's really cheap if you get it in the Baker Digital Reference Library:
http://rejoicesoftware.com/bdrl3.htmI can't believe the Amazon sellers are getting much business.

The Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology (EDBT) was published in 1996, has never been revised, and is out of print. I imagine you're confusing it with the Evangelical Dictionary of Theology (EDT), which has gone through two editions (1984, 2001). The newest version of EDT is available for pre-order in the Baker Theology Collection (11 Vols.). (We also have the biographical entries from the first edition.)

[Rubs eyes] Thanks, yes I see my error now. Well hopefully when the prepub matures they will update the EDT to 2nd ed and still have it as a standalone.
I guess my question morphs to, will the EDT as a 2nd Edition be available as a standalone item; and secondly if I had the 1st Edition would there be an upgrade option (and would that be cheaper or more expensive than just waiting to buy the EDT 2nd EDT outright).
