I have Portfolio and a couple of other DSS resources already. I don't use them very often since I am usually neck-deep in Bible study. What makes this resource different from what I already have and worth purchasing? I'm talking details, of course...I know what the DSS are, so I'm not asking about basics.

Also, I'm only looking for a couple of sentences or a paragraph, not a thesis or novella. Thanks.

    This product contains

    1) Fresh transcriptions of the Hebrew (and some Greek) manuscripts that contain portions of the Hebrew Bible. If you have Hebrew DSS texts elsewhere this is likely to be substantially similar although there may be word differences if was determined that previous editions misread/transcribed certain words.

    2) Morphological tagging of the texts. The benefit of this is that you will be able to run morph searches. This should make it easier to compare the Qumran biblical texts with the BHS and the LXX.

For those who don't speak or read Hebrew and Aramaic, I am more interested in an English translation of the biblical DSS.  Wonder if Logos will ever offer one - such as The Oldest Known Bible Translated for the First Time into English, by
Martin G. Abegg, Jr., Peter Flint, and Eugene Ulrich.

I've said this before, but I would buy The Oldest Known Bible Translated for the First Time into English in a minute.  I've got it in paperback, but would love to have it in Logos.

Will there be English translations of the texts included in the Qumran Biblical DSS Database?

    Thanks.

Not exactly. The words will be tagged with English glosses so if you turn on that interlinear row you'll be able to make sense of it but it won't be a translation proper.
