Sluggish changing Layouts

When I try to change or resave etc layouts they are PAINFULLY sluggish and slow.

My 1 core P4 machine just labours continually with L4.

As it is stands now at R.C.1 with these continual 5-8 second delays -
the only way L4 is not going to frustrate me is if I put in a new
operating chip or motherboard.

I hope that (unlike some other "evangistically" optimistic company's advertising) that there is some reality in the "suggested" minimum computer spec's for this product.
