Search with WITHIN operator

Hi all and thank you so long for your help.

I feel very stupid asking this question because I once had it working for me but now I cannot remember it correctly.

I am sure I have used the following:

Jesus WITHIN VERSE 1 Lord (or something like this)

Now I cannot get it to work. I have searched as good as I could to find this operator together with VERSE but was unsuccessful, Please help me out of my frustration. Embarrassed

Note that "verse" is not one of the supported proximity filters. You can use word or words, char or chars. You could try searching for

Jesus WITHIN 20 words Lord

It might get you close to what you're looking for. Vary the number if you don't find it on the first try.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I have studied those proximity filters very thoroughly but was sure I remember that I was able to use VERSE somewhere.

Could you be thinking of this?

Under normal circumstances the search engine only looks for combination of things inside the same verse. But if you click the chapters or Sections radio button you can find constructions that span verse boundaries.

After I typed this up I decided to dig a little more. There are more proximity units than just CHARACTER and WORD. If you open your help file and find Advanced Searching > Units for Proximity Operators you will see that CLAUSES, SENTENCES, PARAGRAPH are all valid for proximity searches... perhaps you were thinking of one of these?
