Tagging and collections

I have been fine tuning my library with tagging...I'm getting happier every week or so with the results. I then create collections from that with the command "mytag:commentariesscholar" and the all those commentaries are there and so on.

Problem: I wanted to add a collection to another. The collection is called "my sermon illustrations" and it was created by the command "mytag:sermonillustrations." I want to add devotionals to this collection so I type: "mytag:sermonillustrations AND mytag:devotionals" and all I get is 3 devotionals from the 35 or so that I have in my library.

Any thoughts?

Try using OR to get both sets together.

The AND operative means a resource has to have both tags to be included.

Doesn't add a thing...same books pulled in by the "mytag:sermonillustrations" are there and the OR command doesn't add any books.

Here's the command I typed: "mytag:sermonillustrations OR mytag:devotionals"

You probably need to figure out what Thomas & Kevin are trying to show you. So continue on with them.

Problem: I wanted to add a collection to another.

But there is a simple way to add a collection to another collection.

1. Open the collection that you want to add another to.

2. Then click on Open

3. In the drop down collection list, locate the collection that you want to add and right click on it.

4. In the pop-up menu click on Include in collection.

5. Logos4 adds the collection in the Plus these resources box.

The OR syntax you were given earlier is definitely correct. (The OR does have to be in capitals, though.)

It's the space in sermon illustrations that's causing the problem. If the tag really does have a space in it, you'll need to wrap it in quotes:

mytag:"sermon illustrations" OR mytag:devotions

If the tag doesn't have a space, you'll just need to remove it.
