Wesley, Fletcher, Beet & Arminius

Ok, so I'm trying to make sense out of this upgrade...

First, I already own the Ages version of these works AND the Logos version of all of them too!

John Wesley Collection (29 vols.). There is a significant addition of 25 volumes for this collection. Only 4 of the volumes were available previously (I have them). This upgrade for $155.95 seems to actually make sense for the cost.

Joseph Agar Beet Commentary Collection (16 vols.). His eight commentaries are already in Logos (I have them). The upgrade adds 12 volumes for a cost of $104.95. Again, although most people may only want the commentaries, paying that much for the rest of the volumes seems a little steep, but it isn't ridiculous.

The Works of Arminius (4 vols.). The three volume works are already in Logos (Again, I have them). The upgrade adds one book: "The Life of Jacob Arminius" for a cost of $45.95. (Yes, that's the special discount price) For one book? His biography?

The Works of the Reverend John Fletcher (6 vols.). Five of the six volumes are already available in Logos (Again, I have them!). The only new book is "The Life of Mrs. Mary Fletcher." The upgrade is $59.95. That's the special discount price! Again, for one book? His wife's biography? Are you kidding?

Someone please help me understand what's going on here. Am I missing something? Is there more to this that I'm overlooking?

I am trying to make sense out of this as well. I have sent an email to Logos customer service and asked them basically whatbyou have asked in the forum. I will postnthe reply here after I hear from them.

This is not the case, more like eleven additional resources. If you check the Logos/Ages edition, the 14 volume set of the 'Works of John Wesley' was arranged into 3 volumes. What I can make of the new additions are as follows:

The Journal of the Rev. John Wesley, vol. 1

So $155.95 seems very steep for an upgrade. Which does not make sense to me.

I would like the opportunity to buy just the missing volumes from the previous Logos/Ages edition that is present in the new upgrade. As it is the upgrade price is too pricey for my liking for just a few missing content.

I'm not completely sure about this but I think Works of Wesley were packaged with Clarke's Commentaries and Wesley's Commentaries were packaged as part of the Weslyan/Arminian Collection. I only have Wesley's Commentaries in Logos (I have the other items in Ages) so an upgrade for me would add 25 volumes to Logos.

Okay I now see what you mean. For me having the Works of Wesley which were packaged with Clarke's Commentaries & Wesley's Commentaries would mean 14 volumes addition in the upgrade. Thanks for sharing and clearing up my confusion.

Ted, honestly, you are absolutely right. It makes no sense. I have signed up for it because I want to encourage more Wesleyan study material in Logos. I signed up out of loyalty, I suppose.

What Abingdon and Logos need to do is put out a collection with all three sets. The featured set would be the newer Thomas Oden / Heitzenrater critical set, Along with that include the public domain sets of Nehemiah Curnock edition of Wesley's journal, and the Jackson editon of Wesley's Works.

That would be cause for excitement, and would justify the price that they are asking.

I have recently bought Thomas Oden / Heitzenrater set in both book format and electronic format from Abingdon. I hate to buy it in a format other than Logos, but what can I do? I need it on my computer in Abingdon's format until Logos has it.
