Sharing a quote from logos

So I am often reading some things that I just love and want to share with the world. However I want to be sure i am following the code correctly. What is the most I am legally allowed to quote from a logos book on somewhere like facebook.

My intention is not to be dishonest or take away from an author's ability to make money from their work.

Sometimes I'd like to tell people to read a certain chapter of a book that touched my heart or challenged my mind.

Hmm. I don't know the legal definition of too much but I would gamble that a chapter is too much.

Many Bibles for instance the NASB states that using more than 500 verses requires more than a citation.

In general I would consider a paragraph or at the most two to be appropriate with an adequate citation. more than that IMHO stretches the meaning of fair use.

Now that's my opinion, let the lawyers haggle over it. :-)
