Thanks, Floyd. I did find it interesting.
Thanks, that was interesting. I have a question, does anyone know how I would go about getting an old Bible preserved? I have a family Bible that dates back to the early 1750's (First birth entry is 1752). It is in very good shape, but I am afraid to do much with it because of it's age. Any help would be appreciated.

Not personally, but I would go ask at your local library. I would think they would have the contacts necessary to get a good answer.

Likewise not know personally, albeit wonder about museum curators, who have lots to preserve ?

Michael,
I don't know what all you need/want done, but I can highly reccomend http://www.leonardsbooks.com/ I know Eric personally and can also vouch for his work. I had him repair the binding on a small Bible from the early 1800's and he did a great job. I have no connection with the business - I'm just a friend of his. If you contact him tell him Nord said hi! I trust that this doen't break forum rules, I am not personally advertising for myself.
Start googling around on book or bible rebinding you'll come across a few companies that will do so.

Nord, Thank you for that link. Next time someone asks about a new Bible cover, I have the answer.

I cannot answer your question, but I really don't care. It has been said that "rules were made to be broken" - and I think this is a perfect example as to why.[;)]
I've met Eric on a couple of times in connection with a rebinding of a Bible for my wife. His work was great and his shop smelled great from all that leather! [:)]
Nord, thank you very much for the link. I will be contacting him. [:D]

Kevin,
Do we live close to each other? I pastor a church a few miles from Eric's shop - he is part of a group of local pastors I pray with every Wednesday morning. I live in the little town of Camden and Pastor the Lockport Church near Burnettsville, IN.
Not really, I live an hour and a half away from his shop. My wife decided to get what she wanted it was best to go down and see the leather choices in person. It also worked out that I could pick up the Bible when it was done.
Well, in the world-wide reach of LOGOS, we are almost neighbors!
