Has anyone heard anything about the Mark Driscoll Sermon Archive pre-pub? Was supposed to ship a few weeks ago.
Are pre-pubs often delayed? This is the first one I've ordered.
Chris,
I've not heard anything about that particular pre-pub but yes they are occasionally delayed for last minute reasons. Maybe someone discovered a bug in the spell checker? Well anyway don't worry about it.
I don't know if this has changed at some point, but the prepub page has it to be released 11/10/09

Ahh I read that as 11th October because I'm in England. Should I be reading it as November 10th?
Yup - us here over the pond prefer MMDDYY over DDMMYY.
Chris, Yup - us here over the pond prefer MMDDYY over DDMMYY.
I thought it was Oct 9, 2011. [8-|] At least that's how I date my log files for the software I write (YYMMDD)
Reading the description in Pre-Pub, I can't tell if the sermon archive includes the MHC/Driscoll released material also (sermon notes/outlines/booklets). Anyone know?
Don't know Todd.
Here was a blog about it. http://blog.logos.com/mt-cgi/mt-search.cgi?search=Driscoll&IncludeBlogs=1&limit=20
It sounds like it is just the sermons transcribed. That is still a lot of material.
A certain country on this side of the pond prefers their months first but officially a certain other large country over here prefers her days first. It makes things a little confusing for us too, especially as we are so close.
Tom
I've ordered this also and the date has gone back a couple of times. My pre-pub page now shows that it is due to be shipped on the 11 December 2009 (assuming, as a Brit, that I am reading 12/11/09 correctly [;)]).
Did the date get changed again?
all about Christ,
David
Apparently it did. The anticipated ship date is now "N/A." Wonder what the hang-up is?
Maybe they were having trouble with the profanity filter? [;)]
Maybe they were having trouble with the profanity filter?
(*&@#$@#$ I hate it when they do that!
I was wondering if anyone knew where there is a problem with this resource? It originally had a release date of September '09, this was put pack to November and then December '09 and, since then, N/A...
I wonder what the hold up is? Has anyone heard anything out there?
New release is May 25, 2010.... soon soon soon
So near and yet so far...
...the date has been put back to the 31 May 2010...
You beat me to it...
The project has been sidelined in favor of the John MacArthur Sermon Archive [:P]
now june 2nd?
Now it has been pushed back to the 4th. I am begining to wonder if they are just drawing dates out of a hat. This is the 4th date change in the past week?
This is not uncommon.Sometimes unexpected issues come up with the resource that need to be resolved before shipment. It just means that when it comes, it'll be what you expect, instead of having to download it twice, or 3X, etc. When these resources are outsourced, or come from other publishers, this is not in Logos control -- or when it does come to them, the sometimes find that they need to redo sections, so the resource measures up to their own specifications.
Either way, be glad they're fixing the issues before it ships.
Just noticed that the release date has been pushed back (again) to the 8 June 2010 which is a little bit irritating.
I don't mind that it is not ready, but the perpetual slippage is a bit annoying. I would prefer they fixed a more cautious shipping date that is doable...
I had planned on using this over the weekend (and over last weekend, for that matter)...
Oh well.
That is what annoys me as well. One of the dates that they had set was memorial day. They weren't even open on memorial day. It just doesn't seem like they are putting much thought into the ship date.
They weren't even open on memorial day.
Actually they were.
OK today is the 8th. Please post if you got the download.
Now it's the 9th....talk about unreliable.
If I remember, sometimes Logos throws in extra resources related to the title as a "bonus" for those who pre-order. Driscoll has completed another sermon series since the initial resources were announced. It's possible they added that series or maybe they are intending to throw in a book or two from Resurgence? Just speculating and hoping. It would be a nice gesture since we have had all the delays. I'll just be happy with what was offered at first.
Here's to today, the day the Lord hath made.
amen, David! I had the same hopeful suspicions, let's wait and see...
it just went live!
It is downloading now!
how did you get this to work? this is my first prepub and i've done the "update now" a few times in L4 and get the little "no updates" box. i've made sure i ordered the download version and i've made sure it's not in my library already. [:D]

You need to wait until you have been billed. You should receive notification via email that you have been charged and that the resource is ready to download. After you have been billed it should automatically download next time you open L4. Alternatively, you could type 'update now'.
I understand that it takes a while to bill everyone as the folks at Logos process the orders manually... At least I think that is what I read...
Just got back from my son's kindergarten graduation. Glad to see this resource is live now! Thanks Logos and thanks Mark Driscoll.
Anyone know if the Mark Driscoll archive will be made available as a resource for the iPone/iPad?
Yevgeniy,
We are planning on having the Mark Driscoll resources available on the iPhone/iPad in the next few days.

WOOHOOOO!!! [:D]
So how are you guys using the resource? I'm trying it this way with my morning devotional reading:
1) Create a collection with the 2 volumes in it.
2) Open my ESV and the Cited By tool
3) Set the Cited By preferences to check just the "Driscoll" collection and to follow along
Any time a reference I'm on is mentioned in the Driscoll Archive, I have a link to it available. I did this because it wasn't showing as a commentary for passage guide searches.
So how about you?
I ordered the download, I got the email that I was billed and it cleared my credit card. Still no update in Logos 4 on PC or Mac.
How can I get this thing to download?
Thanks.

If you have not already done so, shutting down Logos 4 and restarting will be the first step. Then type Update Now into the command box and press enter or select it from the dropdown menu. If that doesn't work I would probablly call customer service. Also make sure that you don't have the little blue icon in your system tray saying that an update is available.
Shutting down Logos and reopening it worked for me.
