Is there an easy way to have a collection of the books in a base package as described on the comparison page (http://www.logos.com/comparison) without manually selecting the resources and adding them into separate collections? Perhaps a predefined collection?
Sadly, no.
The new system is designed to be "dynamic"
There is no built in meta data to distinguish resources from each of the individual base collections.
Thanks Steve!!!!!
Perhaps a predefined collection?
As Steve mentioned, there is no way to form this collection automatically. IF (big IF) one was starting out with just a base package, he/she could add a tag to every resource in Library relatively easily. From that time on those resources would be tagged identically and could be placed a collection easily.
What you are asking for has been asked for in the past. You can make a suggestion for it in the Suggestion Forum which Logos employees read.

I assume that somewhere at Logos in a clean install of each package [for testing use]. If we could swap collections then they at Logos could do what you suggested and send us the resultant collections. To bad that swapping collections, notes, etc is not in the mix.
And if we ever get to swap collections we might also need the difference collections [collection GOLD, collection SILVER and maybe collection StoG (Silver to Gold)]

My notation may not be accurate but It expresses the idea.
This is off the top of my head and maybe slightly too much work, but couldn't you just tag all the resources that come in your base package (e.g. 'silver', 'gold') and then build a collection based on those, or do a new collection and use 'add these' option too?
Meh, Logos seems to add more resources to base packages over time so I would have to do that to each new resourse. I was able to copy the list on the comparisons page paste it into excell and them copy and past it back into word. This gave me a list of all the books. I then placed a ';' after each book. What this allowed me to do was use the 'replace' function so that I could replace any ';' to be what ever I wanted. I tried a few things to no avail such as replacing all ';' with ;title: and other things. But none worked. Thats mainly because I don't know much about syntax and such. I feel its way more orriented for programmers then the average computer user but some of it is pretty simple. Anyhoot thanks for the suggestions.
Sounds like a good Idea. Got tomorrow off as a Holiday. So where do I start? I will print out the Logos Software Comparison Chart!!!
Whoops - the fields with all the marks showing what is in what are [ ] [printed white on white] [or maybe just don't print]
Where is a Logos Software Comparison Chart that is "printer friendly"
[Better yet is there a version we can sort? - much less work if it is sorted - else will have to enter each title - 1200 in Platinum]

You can go to the product description page for your base package, then click on the All Contents link (towards the right, under the price, under "System Requirements"). That will bring up a popup window in which the text is selectable. Click and drag to select it all. Copy (Ctrl +C), paste into Word (or your word-processor of choice) and edit as you like, sort it, or print it from there.

Thanks Rosie:
I had not realized that there was a list there that could be copied into Word!
Built a PLAT (for platinum) collection. Found 1152 items. [As I can not give this to any of you I am not going to check it for errors.] And thanks to some help on collections in the wiki I now know how many other resources I have. [[rating:>=0 ANDNOT mytag:PLAT]] Thanks for the Idea and for the help. [and one more Holiday used up]
