4.2a (4.21.5.0585) Automatic start on login

When I log into L4Mac, I get a small blue Logos icon in the the message bar on the top of my screen, this icon only appears for a second or two and then disappears.

For the Logos Dev team, or anyone else on the forum who knows:

1. Is this normal behavior?

2. How can I turn this off.

That's normal. The indexer icon appears on the Mac toolbar during the short moment the "Preparing your library" dialog appears on the screen.

Please forgive me, I just realized that I worded my question wrong, the icon appears when I log into my computer, not when I log into L4Mac [:$] Having it appear when I open L4Mac makes perfect sense, but not when I log into my computer.

That's okay. ) The indexer also does a check at Mac startup to see if an indexing process had been stopped before log out or shutdown.

It needs to do that check. We could look into not showing the icon if it doesn't need to run after startup.

[:D] Maybe... Please understand that it has nothing to do with the icon, it is a matter of programs starting on login without my permission. Every developer can justify why they need to do it, and they rarely take into account that most other developers are doing it as well, so after awhile the boot process becomes painfully slow. I also understand that it is not plausible for programs to ask, based on the varying technical understanding of the user base.

Don't worry about my question of how, I found the logos indexer start up file in my launchagent folder and removed it.

Imagine you have seen launch agent file created every time Logos 4 Mac is opened.

2. How can I turn this off.

Wiki Mac Troubleshooting page has Logos 4 Mac Indexer Automatic Launch section with plist modification option.
