What is the name of the default font?
I really like it, whatever it is.
Here's a quote from Bob Pritchett from during the beta:
The default text font is "Athelas", from Type-Together. (http://www.type-together.com/Athelas)This font should be getting even better, with some improved hinting andwider character support for diacritics, etc. before the release. The UI font is a custom variant of Alber, from MoreType. (http://moretype.co.uk/) These fonts were chosen for various reasons: 1. They're awesome. 2. They have rich support for OpenType features. I hope you'llnotice (or rather, feel the subtle beauty of) the use of OldStylenumerals (digits the dip below the baseline), Small Caps, and even fiand fl ligatures in the books. 3. They have excellent (and still to get better) support fordiacrtics and other complex characters we need to displaytransliteration of Hebrew and other languages. You should see fewer"ugly fonts" in the middle of lexicon entries, etc. We have licensed these fonts for embedding in the application, sothey only work inside Logos 4. If you want to use them in your wordprocessor, you can purchase copies online from various font vendors. It tooks us a long time to identify great fonts that met the technical and licensing requirements. Thanks for noticing!

Thank you Todd. Sounds really interesting. I like the "feel" of the fonts also very much.
That is a bit unfortunate. I like to see the same font in all my applications -- Georgia up til now. Setting the font in L4 to anything except "default" goobers some of the symbols in books like NTSK -- as in http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28449.aspx.
I was going to post to the thread you quoted from but I couldn't find it.
You could purchase Athelas yourself if you want to use it in other apps. As your experience shows, most fonts don't have the character set support needed for a complex text-oriented application like Logos.
The thread was in a private forum that was only open to pre-release beta testers.

It is quite pricey. It is a gorgeous font, but it has some problems with irregular baseline due to hinting issues, as I've noted in this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/29162.aspx (see the other thread that Bradley links to in his reply for the explanation of why the problem is there). Hopefully the font makers will fix it at some point. I do find the alignment problems quite distracting when reading all caps headings in Logos.
