This looks like one of those where you have to reindex from scratch. You have a large library so that will be time consuming. To do this type Rebuild Index in the Command Bar and hit Enter.

If you can still search on your library you could postpone this step until more convenient. It crashed while trying to add some 400 new resources to your index. That may not have affected the existing index of all your other items.

Actually, I have tried re-installing from scratch, following Dave's Method 3. the Indexing exercise took over 10 hours, and totally Froozed My MacBookPro running Parallel's VM with Windows 7 (64), I cannot get the usual logs. I gave up and restored this current machine VM from the VM prior to re-installation.

Yes, existing index seems to be OK, so, I will wait till the next release to try again as it is an extremely time consuming exercise.

What is interesting, I got similar problem with my 4.3 Beta 3 on another Windows XP Pro VM, everything works as advertised after the re-installation and indexing you have suggested.

Hi all,

I like to share this, just incase anyone got the same problem.

Problem:

I tried these on my VM: rebuilding index, re-installing (using Dave's Method 3 on Wiki), re-installing from scratch including downloading everything from Logos .... I did 3 times over 1 week, all of which failed including crashing and destroying my VM for the last 2 cases, so I cannot even see the logs. However, I have backup my VM :-)

I am suspecting it could be a combination of Logos indexing + Parallels VM + my new Momentus XT (hybrid) HDD with firmware DS25. I will be testing next week with a non-hybrid HDD, and will update here.

How I got round this problem:

I Installed (using Method 3 on Wiki) this time on a separate real Desktop running Windows 7 (64). Once indexing completed successfully (using Method 2 on Wiki). I Backup Logos in this real desktop and install on my above-menetioned Virtual Machine.

Everything is working as it should be now.

Just want to update that all is working now with L4.2b in my new environment. (Windows 7 Home Premium on Parallels on MacBook Pro 17" (Early 2011))

Seagate Momentus XT 500GB is not guilty - I when through the exercise to migrate ot my new MacBook Pro with regular HDD and Hybrid HDD. Logos 4 works on both.

PS: for those going on to MacBookPro 15" or 17" (Early 2011), if you are using Parallels 6.0 (11994), please remember to disable your 3D acceleration - for my case VM crashed and not recoverable :-(

Hopefully so that others do not get their VM crashed!

Wiki page Logos 4 Mac => Need Logos 4 PC feature? section includes: " suggested settings for running Logos on Parallels "; noted turn off 3D also applied to Parallels 5.
