Saw this on sale in the recent Newswire for $589. Does anyone have an opinion on this? At first glance it seems to be a pretty good deal.

I own most of the items on there and think it looks like a great deal, WBC is a very fine in depth commentary and Preachers is great (it's very devotional at times, but it has wide range in the way each volume treats the texts, but I feel it is very valuable nonetheless). The KJV Commentary is a very fine conservative one (formerly 2) volume commentary and the Word in Life Study Bible was a very nice application based devotional Bible. These items to me seem the most valuable and well worth the price. There are admittedly a whole lot of other really useful books there. If you own any of the books listed you may qualify for a further discount but would have to talk with a Logos customer service rep to see.

I picked this one up because of the great price and although I'm just now going through it, I'm very happy I did. Look at what all you get for the price per book and then go for it! [Y] I don't imagine it gets much cheaper.
If you only wanted the big items (WBC $500 discounted, else $700 + Preacher's $130 + Treasury of Preaching $300) you have saved money and the others are a bonus. I have the vast majority of the "others" from a couple of old Nelson "Reference" collections, so these items would be the only consideration for me!

Considering that I have twice this spring seen what looks like essentially the same package, but under another name, for less than $400, I'm not exactly going to jump. I might actually buy it for that price some time in the future, but I'll never buy it for this. But then I only really want the WBC.
I also own most of the items, and I think it is a super buy. Just the Word Biblical Commentary is worth the price, and there are lots of other great resources in this. Excellent deal.

We're not allowed to link to competitors, but you can follow the leads in this thread. [;)] It's not valid right now, though, but I've seen it for that price twice since March, so I would assume it will turn up again. But there's no guarantee of course.
