Would an update to BDAG be useful?

I was reading through the entry to ἄρχων, and it states under 2 A:

ⓐ of Jewish leaders (Schürer.....

Now it so happens this Schurer reference is, if you check the biblio, "A History of the Jewish People in the Time of Jesus Christ (4 volumes), which is also a Logos resource now.

Should BDAG be updated to make this a link to this resource? Are there other resources in BDAG that are not linked?

BDAG has an incredible bibliography, it would be great if all Logos resources are covered. I don't know how many are missing.

The linking in BDAG is actually pretty good, and includes Important links such as those to grammars such as BDF and Robertson; other lexicons like TDNT; and ancient manuscripts like the Apocrypha, Josephus, Philo and the Fathers. Most of the unlinked references in BDAG are to Greek manuscripts or continental works not in Logos. The only links I've noticed that are missing are:

Pseudepigrapha
Moulton's Grammar

It would certainly be useful to get those (and Schürer) in.

Logos' policy is that when a new resource is released it links to all existing resources. They don't have a policy to add links to the new resource everytime the new resource is released. However, they are committed to reviewing important works periodically to ensure the links are good enough. As far as I know, AYBD is top of that list, but I recall a recent post saying there were around 20 other resources also on it. The updates would be free for all existing users, and would be paid for from central funds.

I wish there was a variant of the typo report where we could provide them the URL for an unlinked resource...seems that it would be a simple thing for someone to read those each day, test by clicking through, and then applying that URL back into the resource metadata--certainly less time than identifying/locating links one by one. If there is a user who misuses such a feature or is just plain inaccurate, Logos could filter out their suggestions.

Alternately--and harder--Logos could just create pre-identified placeholders for every reference in a text, but point them to a dead resource page until Logos publishes that resource.

I tried manually following some of those BDAG Schürer references in the past and couldn't. The problem is that BDAG references a newer edition than the one available in Logos. The new one is 4 volumes and the old one (in Logos) is 5 volumes.

So I'm not sure that the page references are linkable, since both the volume numbers and pagination are different.

That's the problem with only having older versions of a text. I've had the same issues with other books: some modern books will reference the McNeill/Battles edition of Calvin's Institutes by page number, and that means I can't look it up in Logos, which doesn't have that edition.

The problem with attempting to link to a work such as Schürer is that there a several editions of the work. If you run a hand check on the citations of Schürer you will find that the citation frequently refers to an edition other than the one which we have in Logos. It may even be the case that the passage cited is not in the edition we have even if a search using the relevant data is run. This is definitely a problem since it might require having a different edition of Schürer in order to link to it. Since a number of works refer to him, it is even possible that it would be necessary to have several editions in order to be able to link to one of them.
