Scrolling in a Bible

If this has already been covered before, I apologize. I have been having trouble scrolling in a Bible. The text seems to jump around. I'll scroll down and for a few lines all is well, but then the text jumps back up. Well, I have found the culprit. It is "Text Comparison" when it is linked to a Bible. If you turn off the link to the Bible in the Text Comparison panel, the Bible scrolls just as it should. Once again, if this is already known, I apologize for repeating it.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Randy

Thanks for posting this! I've been very frustrated by this issue.

I had actually emailed this issue to Logos. They responded via email and told me that they didn't actually know what caused this and could not duplicate the issue. So, you are one up on them.

I still have problems with scrolling even if the "text comparison" is turned off.  Some books seem to work better than others, but this is one of my biggest frustration with Logos.

I would like to be able to read with ease as I am scrolling down in open windows.  I try scrolling with my fingers on the MacBook Air track pad and I also use the up/down arrows.  Both ways have problems, you loose lines of text as you are scrolling down/up to read.  FRUSTRATING!!!

Wonder which resource(s) are irritating to scroll ?  Also wondering what is linked together ?

Would like to see a screenshot so can try replicating slowness using arrow keys and a magic mouse.

I am not sure how to attach the screen shot in this post.  I did a Cmd + shift +3key, and I tried to paste it into the text body with no avail.  I have problems with linked or unlinked resources.  The scrolling is just not good.  Thank you.

Wondering about some resource example(s) with poor scrolling.  Thankful for Logos 4.3 improvements => Scrolling: Reverse Interlinear Bible, which can be very slow at times  looking for repeatable resource scrolling issues so Logos developers can isolate issue and improve; screen shot is helpful to show resource plus other stuff (e.g. highlighting) that can affect scrolling.  Some highlighting adds images to text, which can be an issue for display rendering (and word positioning).

Also cognizant that Logos 4 Mac is noticeably more responsive on newer hardware (e.g. 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors) with 4 GB or more RAM and fast disk storage (e.g. Solid State Disk).

I am having the biggest problem with the NIV84 while scrolling.  I can not scroll line by line it jumps by whole blocks and it cuts some text off.  The other Bibles allow me to scroll line by line.  Are you having this problem with your NIV84?  thanks Mike

I called tech support, and Steve helped diagnose the problem.  The column menu must be set at "none" only, (not one or auto) even though it puts it in a single column with all of these settings.  The scrolling becomes inconsistent, when you choose anything other than "none".  This took some digging with tech support online controlling my computer.  But, he was able to diagnose the bug.

    Thanks Steve in Tech Support

Thanks for sharing; using Logos 4.3 SR-2 on Mac, can replicate scrolling increment issues by changing column setting (including line by line scrolling when "None" is selected).

Wonder about changing Text Comparison from Link Set letter to Follow ?

MJD, thanks for the help!  This was the most frustrating problem I had with Logos on Mac. Now it works just like it should!
