layout space needed

On the left side of my layout view is the column with a lot of stuff I'll rarely use if ever. Things like the ".com" resources. As well there other items I rarely use.

I'd like to be able to choose which items I want displayed there to free up space for more relative material. Thanks

Your layout is fully customizable so I am not sure what your question is. You can set the number and size of each cell, what resources are open, which are linked etc. Could you be a bit more specific?

Hiya WD40, I suspect that you're referring to the Passage Guide with the various .COM resources at the bottom of the page (by the way, of you haven't had a look at them, you may be surprised at how rich they can be [;)]). You can, however, create a custom Passage Guide that only has the things that you are most interested in. There are several examples on the wiki. If, however, you are talking about the size of the pane that contains the Passage guide, you can reduce it by hovering your mouse over the junction of the three panes (if you are looking at a default layout, the panes would be Passage Guide, Bible (top middle pane), and Commentary (bottom middle pane)), When the cursor changes from an arrow to a compass rose (a "+" with arrow tips at the ends of each line), hold down the left mouse button and drag to the left. You'll see the Passage Guide size reduce and the Bible & Commentary panes increase.

And lastly, you can hover your mouse inside the Passage Guide pane, to the right of each entry until you see an "X". This will allow you to selectively remove resources from the Passage Guide.

Ya I suppose your right. I should create a specific layout. What I'm doing is in my daily reading plan the "passage Guide" has a lot of stuff in it I never use. I can click the "X" and delete them for the moment. But next time I open the program there right back there.

I thought that it would be nice to be able to go through the Tools/Settiongs window or Home page customize and elect what you want evident?

DOH! Perhaps what you need is a Reading Layout. I use one for daily devotionals that looks like this:

Follow the wiki and create your own Passage Guide with only the components that you want. Even create a collection of your favorite commentaries (I have a collection with all my 4-5 star rated commentaries in it) and include it in your Passage Guide.

I created several customized Passage Guides based on the type of study I am doing. Just name them according to the type of Passage Guide you created it to be used for.

As for your customized Passage Guide coming up everytime. You could create a shortcut, or you could create a reading layout. I do both.
