There is not currently a way to force the app to update User Preferences.
If you change prioritization you'll need to wait for the app to sync those changes. This can take anywhere between a few mintues and a few hours.
We are currently working on improvements to our Sync Framework that will vastly improve the performance of syncing. These improvements will be pushed out in a future release.

It's just that I changed my preferred Commentary over 3 days ago and Auto-Sync is on.
