Libronix Files into Logos 4

Hi Folks,

My mom was given a Charles Stanley E-bible set, that she gave to me, and I'd like to sync the resources with my Logos 4 account. The advice from customer service was to install Logos Library System (made for Windows 3.1 & 95) and extract licenses. I'm not sure if it will install, since I'm running windows 7, and was curious if anyone knew of an easier way to extract the licenses from the disks?

The assumption is that L4 can extract from LLS, so you might need to install both programs (L4 and LLS) on any 32-bit Windows system (LLS won't install on Windows 7 64-bit). Do you have a good friend with a 32-bit Windows OS?

If you have to go the "friend's" route it would be easier to install LLS then Logos 3 and then Sync licences from L3.

Then install LLS, restart L4 and see what happens (or follow the instructions given by CS).

As I reported in another thread recently, I am running Libronix L3 on a 64-bit Vista system, and it provides a very noticeable improvement in speed compared to 32-bit Vista. Disappointed to hear L3 doesn't run on Win7-64...the end must be upon us! [:O]

Not sure about statement that Libronix3 won't run on W7-64? My new ThinkPad's a 64bit and I'm running 'straight' L3. It does have a flakey inability to handle the resize event. So I just set up standard layouts and all's well (so far). I mainly wanted it for reading, highlighting, etc. I use L4 also.

I also loaded L3 into a W7 Virtual PC. The plus there is that it's a controlled 'box' where IE is fixed. Works great. The downside (so far) is that it doesn't pull in resources correctly. It loads all my licenses but it's very irratic recognizing books, even when they're on a Libronix CD with standard loading.

Bottom line after working on it a couple of days, is I'm done with any further major Logos purchases. I don't have any confidence in L4 without a live company behind it, and L3 obviously has some flakey programming.

I think you were mislead by the title of this thread containing "Libronix". The problem concerns the earlier 16-bit Logos 2 or LLS. Libronix/Logos 3 runs well on Win 7 64-bit.

If Internet Explorer 9 is installed, then a patch is needed => Libronix and Internet Explorer 9

Also, Logos support page has download link for Libronix 3.0g => Download the Latest Version (3.0g)

To sync licenses between Libronix 3 and Logos 4, need to use same Logos.com account (typically email address) to login.

Thankful can use Libronix 3.0g and Logos 4 at the same time on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer.

Yes David, no 16 bit application will run on a 64 bit Windows (unless you run a 16 or 32 bit virtual machine....)
