Prof. Horner's Bible Reading Plan

Hello Logos Family,

I would like to know if there has been a 2012 L4 version of Prof. Horner's Bible Reading Plan that allows you to read 10 full chapters per day as the plan prescribes. The plan that I've found in L4 allows you to read 10 books but not 10 full chapters/day. I'm hoping this is possible so that I won't have to use the Youversion version.

Sorry Terry, Logos doesn't have the capacity to force chapter breaks. It can be done if you don't mind hacking around in the data files in Logos ala the wiki:

Hi T.L.,

As others have posted some hacks, but if your need is to have the reading plan in L4, a Personal Book might work. I wanted to use the Life Journal Reading Plan and this worked pretty well.

In this thread is a template for a calendar devotional. You can paste the Scripture passages into the appropriate section. You can find copies of various reading plans here including Professor Grant Horn’s plan.

Once you have the Scripture Passages save your .docx file (the template is good for any type of calendar work). Here are the instructions on compiling a book:

Build the book

Go to Tools > Personal Books

Click Add book

Enter Title

Enter Author (optional)

Enter Copyright message and Description (optional)

Choose the book Type (default: Monograph).

Choose a Language (it is hoped that more will be added in the future)

Click Add field for a menu of optional fields (Abbreviated Title is displayed)

Optionally add a cover image: Click Change… under the blank book cover and choose an image file from your hard disk. You can find usable image files for most published books by searching for their title on Google Images

Click Add file… and select the .docx file from your hard disk. You can add multiple .docx files to make up a book and use “drag&drop” to reorder them (right-click a file to remove it).

Click Build book

After the book is built (aka “compiled”) it should automatically open in a tab and begin Indexing.

Important

You need to set the data type when compiling the book as a Calendar Devotional. Once this is done you can prioritise the book. Mark Barnes Video on prioritisation of resources. This allows the reading plan to show up on your homepage. To keep track you could put a note by each date…even if its blank.

This might work as an alternative if you don’t want to alter the file.

Your idea using the PBB is great...I hadn't thought of that! I was also blessed by your instructional video for creating an iMovie w/Google map coordinates from Logos4 maps. Keep up the innovative work!
