Can you/would you use Vyrso App on IPad2 along with the Logos App

The reason I ask (the Subject question) is that Christmas brought our family an iPad2 (64g)! We thank God for our daughter all the time and especially it's easy right to to be grateful after her generosity to us! *smile*

My wife and I (empty nesters) will be sharing the iPad2. My wife is not too interested in my Logos Collection; however, she would be quite interested in the Vyrso books.

Is it possible to have both on one iPad?? Sort of a "his" and "hers"??? *smile*

Firstly congratulations on a most excellent Christmas present. My wonderful wife bought me an iPad a couple of Christmases ago and I have not put it down since.

You can install both the Vyrso and Logos app on the same iPad. It is possible to log in to each devise with a separate username (if your wife and yourself have different accounts). My wife reads Logos books from my account on a casual basis. She tends to do this via the Vyrso app and so I stay out of there. This way, my current reading is open in the Logos app and her reading is open in the Vyrso app largely undisturbed.

This works well because she has little interest in Logos beyond a plain reader. Vyrso suits her purposes perfectly.

I have set up some note files for her on my Evernote account so, should the mood take her, she can add notes and pick them up from PC.

I will need to think about how to manage notes with the implementation in iOS.

Is it possible to have both on one iPad??

Yes; also the Vyrso and Logos apps can have different sets of resources downloaded for offline use. Likewise have option to use different Logos.com accounts in Vyrso and Logos apps.

Yes, you can have both on the same iPad. I use vyrso mainly for reading novels on the iPad.

Looking forward to very soon being able to sync Logos 4 Notes with iOS app; hopefully later this month (watching for stable Logos 4.5 release and 2.0 iOS release).

I also am really excited about this. I have been putting off some serious reading (for which I intend to take copious notes) until the implementation. Evernote is an acceptable workaround, but transferring the notes back into L4 is a real pain.

Milford, If you do not disturbing your wife's reading, you can do a four (or five) finger side swipe between Vyrso and Logos, to go to different open resources. I do this from time to time, to give me more flexibility in what books I have open. I am sure you will enjoy your Christmas present, congrats.

Milford - The other's have answered your question: Yes, you can run both side by side. If the resources are from the same Logos library, you need to note that highlights (coming in the next major release) will most likely appear in the resources of both apps. [This is the same behavior if you run one user library in Logos on two computers, or two user accounts on the same computer]. The way around this, hinted at by KS4J, is to have two separate Logos accounts (with two separate purchases). You can then use the Logos & Vyrso app's completely independently of one another.

Just because something caused me to raise an eyebrow may I clarify a point?

You cannot log onto the device separately - if you set a passcode (highly advisable) you can only have one passcode. If you have two Apple accounts you can each download (and pay for) separate apps but the apps will be available for you both to use.

Is it possible to have two installations of the Logos App on one iPad? I guess not but I might be wrong. If you log into the logos with the app I see no way of logging off to allow another account to be used. If this is possible it would make nonsense of the offline resources model.

No.

The mobile apps are identical to the desktop app in the sense that they are designed for "one user." However... You can have the Logos app as "one user," and the "Vyrso app" as a completely separate, second user. They do not utilize a system wide login... you have to login to each app separately. Resources are stored within each app separately (i.e. you cannot download the ESV for offline use in the Logos app and use it in Vyrso offline too without downloading a separate instance of that resource.)

Hopefully that clarified things... Each of the mobile apps can have only one user, but they don't have to be the same user.

Dear Mike,

Thank you for picking up on this, I confused my devises with my apps.

What I meant to say is, that with Vyrso and Logos both installed, it is possible to log into Vyrso with one username and Logos with another. If a husband and wife are running separate Logos/Vyrso accounts, this will enable a clear differentiation between resources and, with the implementation of sync 2, notes and highlighting.

Apologies for any confusion. In my defence it was late... and it had been a long day.

We live in North Manchester which is about an hour and a half from the Lake District, but we try to visit the area a couple of times each year. It really is a place of outstanding beauty. I have two boys (two and four) who love to play outdoors. They love spending time there.

It really is a small world after all!
