Tracking user generated tools and files

I was afraid my offer in the above thread would get lost. If everyone who has provided files - macros, indexes, PB templates etc. would tell me where they are - in other threads or reposted in the files forum, I'll put links to them on a wiki pages and in the web resources reading list. Thanks for you time and effort.

When the sycing happens, there will be no need for page... but would work as stop gap

Thanks Steve - I thought we had the stub but didn't realize how far it was developed.

Dominic, you are correct that for most things, syncing and the store will take care of the need. But there are still the macros and templates and, I suspect, other miscellaneous stuff to take care of. I'm more comfortable over-planning and backing off rather than trying to recover all sorts of previous things I didn't think of.

This is what I have done so far (exculding the chinese bible done for Ben), have some more spiritual titles, have another dozen or so in the works (more spiritual )

I had reason to visit this page today, which reminded me of something I thought at the time of this thread but never found the time to post about: the page is very confusing for a Mac user. There is nothing whatsoever to indicate what, if anything, of this works on a Mac. You have to open each individual link and read the thread to find out.

It would be very helpful if someone could divide this up between Windows-specific, Mac-specific, and platform independent stuff. And if something requires L3, that too should be noted.

As for Mac-specific, there is the Logos Logscribe, and I believe KS4J has created a couple of things.

Added icons next to each item. There is the Windows icon for L4 compatible files and an Apple icon for those file which possibly can be added to the Mac L4 version. Unfortunately tonight the wiki image loader is broke so i could not add an icon for L3 (but for now put text in parenthesis to identify it).

As for Mac-specific, there is the Logos Logscribe, and I believe KS4J has created a couple of things.

I will let KS4J add those using the wiki page's format (hopefully).

I worked hard to create a PB for Raymund Lull: First Missionary to the Moslems by Samuel M. Zwemer, and was going to post it once Logos fixed a PBB bug that was causing the font sizes to be all messed up. But then they had to go and put it in CP, so I can't post it now or I'll be competing with them. But if anyone wants it, please contact me and I'll email you the file.

I will try to keep it up to date, but if anyone posts a PB or notices new PBs being posted, feel free to add them. My practice is to post a link to the actual post where the documents are attached, and the latest version at that, so it might not be the first post in the thread if someone posts a corrected version later on. To get the link for a particular post, click the folded-over page icon next to the poster's name, then copy the entire URL (including the bookmark - the numerical part after the #) and paste it as the link.

The last time I checked the chart and map indexes did not work on Mac, and I don't seem to be alone with that experience. I don't have Logos open right now, but I'll check later if they've fixed the bug that destroyed all the links. (If they haven't, it should be easy enough by now to turn them into PB's, but I'll leave that for someone else, since I don't have the books in question.)

All the macros require Word, right? (You might want to remove the line about PB's still being in beta.)

There is some kind of tool hidden away in this odd thread (later versions further down).

And I'd forgotten it was a .doc. I've converted it to .docx, and tried to repost it in the other thread, but it doesn't seem to work right now. I had a yellow triangle in Logos a few minutes ago, so maybe there's some problem with the servers again. I'll try again later.

I finally got it to work. I think the file name I'd used was too long. I updated the PB Wiki page to the new post, and added an entry for Sean Boisen's map index as well, which I have also converted to .docx. I think I got it right.

The Wiki page on Tools and Files supplied by users still lacks both Rosie's and Sean's original .doc files, though. I don't know if that matters anymore, when it's so much easier to have them as PB's, but if someone thinks it does, feel free to add them. That page uses a little bit more complex layout, and I don't have time to try to figure out how to add to it.
