Using the Greek-English and Hebrew-English Lexham

Does anyone know how to fix this?

If I use the ESV English-Hebrew Reverse Interlinear and link it to the ESV when I look up a scripture in the NT the ESV English-Greek Reverse Interlinear will follow the link.

This does not work for the Lexham Greek-English Interlinear - what happens with this text when it is linked to my other Bibles is it follows the NT references only - not a terrible problem; though, the behavior is not optimal.

The Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear behaves even differently; as soon as you look up something in the NT it switches to the Nestle-Aland NT and then if you reference a scripture in the OT it switches to the Septuaginta: Morphologically Tagged.

To summarize - when linking Bibles:

1. The ESV Hebrew and Greek switch between each other when referencing the NT/OT

2. The Lexham Greek does not switch and only references the NT

3. The Lexham Hebrew switches to the Nestle-Aland NT and then switches between the Nestle-Aland and the Septuiginta, closing the Lexham Hebrew completely.

I hope this makes sense; what would be ideal is for the Lexham Greek and Hebrew to switch the same way the ESV Greek and Hebrew switch when linked (the little chain pull down -> A, B, ...)

I'm simply guessing since I never use an interlinear, but I opened the Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear and took a look. I note that you are comparing its action to that of a reverse interlinear. In the reverse interlinear the "main text" is English whereas in the Lexham the "main text" is Hebrew. That may be why it switches to the NA27.

Not sure what is causing the problem; though, the behavior is not consistent between the Lexham Hebrew and Lexham Greek:

1. The Lexham Hebrew turns into the NA27 and then switches between NA27 and Septueginta.

2. The Lexham Greek does not disappear and morph into the NA27.

Another example of the desired behavior is the way the Tenakh and The Jewish New Testament works; these two swap between each other depending on NT or OT referencing.

I am assuming this is a simple association that can be defined just like it is for the ESV Greek/Hebrew and Tenakh/JNT - it might actuall be a bug?

You should be able to create a serial association and put those 2 resources in it:

Tools>Library Management>Define Resource Associations

I definitely would not call it a bug. Remember that the Lexham Syntactic Greek New Testament is a different animal from the Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear. While it may appear to be an interlinear (and in some ways is), the LSGNT's distinguishing character is that it is broken down into clauses which the LH-E Interlinear is not. What you have then is an association Original Language -----> Original Language rather than, in the ESV Rev Int, English -----> English. I think it's designed that way. You may be able to create a serial association between the LH-E Int and another NT such as the SGNT, but that doesn't mean you have a bug.

You need to define a Serial Association for NT/OT switches apart from those you have observed to work (you could still include them in your own association though). The
order of resources is very important e.g.

1. ESV Eng-Gk Rev Int

2. Lexham Gk-Eng Int (LGNTI)

3. NA27

4. ESV Eng-Heb Rev Int

5. Lexham Heb-Eng Int (LHI)

6. Tanakh

7. NRSV

#1 will be used
first when switching to NT references,

You can get to the OT or Apocrypha resources from LGNTI and NA27.

#4
will be used
first when switching to OT references.

NRSV
will be used only for Apocrypha references as none of the others contain the Apocrypha (note that KJV will continue to use the KJV Apocrypha because of their builtin serial association).

Once
in LHI (for example) it will be used for all OT references, but you can switch to Tanakh or NRSV if they are in the same parallel association.

It works great for me. I had the same problem, so I created the serial Resource Association called Lexham Resources and put all the Lexham things I have into it. Now when I open NA27, it goes to BHS in the OT and back. When I open Lexham Interlinear OT and go to the NT, it opens Lexham NT Interlinear and vice versa. Perfecto... works great.
