Potential Bug: Highlighting on top of highlighting

While using my iPad2 and the new 2.0.2 app, I came across some text that was highlighted from my desktop program. I wanted it to be a different color so I removed the old highlight and immediately changed it to another color. The next day, I checked the same text but this time via my iPhone 4. The problem is that both highlights were still applied to the selection (one color on top of the other). I force quit logos app 2.0.2 on each device and restarted and condition remained.
Is this expected behavior or maybe a bug?

Ok, I just glanced at my iPhone screen again and the double highlight disappeared and it is correct now! So how often do the mobile apps sync with the server? After ever so many seconds? After every highlight? Maybe at certain times? After exiting the app and restarting? I see no pattern. Some seem instant or at least within 5 minutes and others, like my example above, appear to take a day.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
I am very thankful for the awesome new functionality but trying to determine if maybe something is wrong with my install. I don't want to get too dependent on this until I know my highlighting is safe.

From your description it would appear to me that the "delete" didn't take effect. Can you verify by checking for a duplicate in your note file in Logos 4.5?

[EDIT: I see you posted again. Glad it is back to where it should be. Sorry, I don't know how often sync works. I think it is supposed to happen each time you highlight, but I have not received verification on that.]

Ed, I have no idea as to how often or when the device will sync, however, I can force a sync but shutting down the idevice and restarting it... at that point my highlights go over to the pc almost immediately. I hope that this helps until someone from Logos lets us know the times/causes for an autosync.

Ok, a further update on syncing... when I put my Ipad 1 on the home screen, I saw it check for updates, I wrote the time down and 30 minutes later watched it sync again, then once more 5 minutes later. Although it is possible that I missed it 5 times in that 30 minutes, I dont believe that I did... so it may be syncing in erratically, or there may be other events that cause it to sync as well. Just an observation, and syncing the home page may not sync our notes, although, it would certainly make for fewer syncs network wide if it synced everything at once... while typing this, it just synced again at another 5 minute interval. hope that his helps.

Syncing occurs about every 10 minutes if you are not doing anything. If however you are creating data on the device, sync will occur more frequently for that particular kind of data. For example, if you've updated a note, favorites won't be synced more frequently (because favorites are a different kind of data than notes), but notes should be synced quicker if you've been adding/editing notes.

Thanks for the description Kevin! That helps me understand what to expect. The notes and highlighting are working great for me. Loving the power here and now with the latest update the highlighting and notes with custom design capabilities have propelled logos into a whole different awesome level!

I spoke a little to soon...although I can get all my iPad2 notes to sync to the desktop, it seems to take me exiting the app on my iPad2 and then clicking the sync button on my toolbar in the desktop program. Not a show stopper but it definitely is not after 10 minutes on its own as indicated in Kevin's post. I have waited double that at least. I still wonder if there might be something wrong with my install. I would love to have a manual sync on my iDevice so that I wouldn't have to force exit my logos app.

Any advice?

Ed - I spoke with one of the developers about the sync, and they are aware of the situation. In the meantime, you can kill the app and restart it and that should force a sync. Not ideal, but it works for now (at least for me). [:S]

Thanks for the info Alabama24! I am just thankful I am not alone and not crazy (well at least not alone anyway!) Even though I have to force the sync with an app restart, the highlighting capabilities are awesome!
