[:@] Can somebody explain to me why a freebie appears in Order History when the same title has already been listed as purchased - or why the purchase icon is not greyed out like it is with other titles one already owns?

Can somebody explain to me why a freebie appears in Order History when the same title has already been listed as purchased - or why the purchase icon is not greyed out like it is with other titles one already owns?

As Alabama has suggested, if you purchased the set by Warfield then the individual titles will not be greyed out. I would like this to be fixed myself as it would make looking through the products page a lot easier.

[alabama24 is very good in helping (thanks over and over again) - but he left our the short explanation] - there is a KNOWN BUG in the 'do you have this book' checker - If you bought the COLLECTION the individual book is NOT marked as owned [I am not sure how it works for books in base packages]

hmmmm. . .I just checked the products page and all the Warfield products are greyed out. Yesterday, I was searching the products and many of the items I owned (that once were part of sets) were not greyed out. I am . . .confused

No, I bought only this specific title a year ago, not the collection. This happened to me with some other freebies, too, where I accidentally added a title to my card while I had totally forgotten that I already did that some months before. As long as this occurs with freebies, there's no harm done - I'm just worried that sometime this will happen when it comes to ressources I pay for ... [;)]

It would also be cool if it worked the other way around too. I have some sets that were completed in piecemeal purchases but the complete set is not greyed out.

The 2010 Christmas Master Collection gave me lots of resources the website does noy grey out. I am guessing the process is based on SKU numbers so it won't really get "fixed" without major reworking. For now we just have to double-check our libraries.

Franz Delitzsch (Leipzig, February 23, 1813 – Leipzig, March 4, 1890) was a German Lutheran theologian and Hebraist. Born in Leipzig, he held the professorship of theology at the University of Rostock from 1846 to 1850, at the University of Erlangen until 1867, and after that at the University of Leipzig until his death. Delitzsch wrote many commentaries on books of the Bible, Jewish antiquities, biblical psychology, a history of Jewish poetry, and Christian apologetics.

He defended the Jewish community against anti-Semitic attacks and translated the New Testament into Hebrew. In 1880 he established the Institutum Judaicum in Leipzig for the training of missionary workers among Jews.

Today, Delitzsch is best known for his translation of the New Testament into Hebrew (1877). Delitzsch's translation is still considered the standard New Testament edition in Hebrew and in its 10th Edition it was revised by a young Arnold Ehrlich at Delitzsch's insistence. This edition was to be utilized for proselytization among Jews. It is remarkable that these editions were composed before the modern revival of the Hebrew language, but the translations still remain fresh and alive for readers today.

Vyrso wouldn't let me buy a second copy of something that I'd already bought, but the Logos site will. As posted earlier, I think this is because the Logos sales set isn't checking to ensure that the resource isn't also enumerated within a resource set that you own.

The Logos website continues to need some tweaking WRT sales.

Hi Mike. Welcome to the forums!

The free book really is free. It is a "purchase" for "$0" and is put onto your account. Normally, those with accounts will already have a credit card on file and this information is not asked (but can be verified). I am not sure all the technical reasons for this, but the transaction goes through the purchasing process, which adds the license to your account. For what its worth, I believe this is fairly standard fair.

welcome to the forums!

AFAIK the website uses a pre-built sales system, which doesn't consider shortcutting the purchase of free books. Maybe this was designed on purpose, to at least somewhat verify that users were real persons and not bots. Logos has expressed that they do not wish to know or use the credit card info in this case, but until now were not inclined to reprogram this part of the website software.

That said, some users say they use one-time credit cards with an $1 limit for free purchases - most others don't see any issues in giving Logos their credit card information, as no indications of any misuses with regard to these information have been expressed in the forums.
