Edit: Release Notes are available now.
Logos 4.5b Beta 1 has a number of known issues on Mac. The Release Notes should be available tomorrow. You may wish to wait to install the Beta until the full release notes are available.
Unfortunately, it has already downloaded automatically. [:(]

I canceled my download. Have you already installed the update Jack?
If you've already installed the update, have you experienced any major issues?
Along with automatic download, am experiencing crash when indexing => http://www.logos.com/product/9781/baker-exegetical-commentary-on-the-new-testament-upgrade
Looking at Indexer.log noticing two resources have (timed) to start indexing without completion.
Yes. Really appreciate that Logos posted a Beta that they knew was faulty, and then posted a warning afterward.
Yes, the Layouts menu is broken. Also MIA—File and Tools Menus.
Logos, this has to be the most boneheaded move yet. [8o|]

Yep... and that's a pretty hard record to break.
Why do the release notes have to wait till tomorrow while the broken update comes today? I know something is supposedly being announced tomorrow, but couldn't the update just wait till tomorrow too?
Very strange... Logos used to give us a warning about a week ahead of a buggy release.
Apologies: since my Layouts menu on Mac OS X 10.6.8 works fine; also have File and Tools menus
Albeit my shortcut icons look a bit cut off at the knees:
Logos 4.5b Beta 1 definitely has a buggy beginning. [au] Seem to remember Beta program warning about buggy bumps.
Keep Smiling [:)]

Apparently I also installed this update, even though I reset my system to the stable channel.
I did experience the same issues as you did above, but I found that I was able to get the menus to show by quitting Logos, turning off my wifi, and then restarting Logos in offline mode.
Hope it helps.
Hiding Jude and 2 Peter has allowed indexing to complete and merge for the other BEC volumes.
Are you on stable channel when you do this? I am having problems indexing the BECNT update as well, but I am on stable.

Personally using Logos 4.5b Beta 1 (4.52.0.1761) with update channel set to Beta, hence posting in Mac Beta forum.
I can confirm that the indexing issue with the BECNT update occurs on stable as well. Your fix of hiding Jude and 2 Peter seems to be working. Before, the indexer would stop at 3 or 4 percent. I am up to 27% as I write.
UPDATE: It indexed fully. I have posted a new thread for other users with this problem on stable.
Aside from the signin issue, which has since been resolved, no other problems on the Windows Beta. Ah well, time for you guys to come into the light and get a PC. [;)]
How do I hide Jude and 2 Peter? Will hiding the resource work with the Beta?
Will hiding the resource work with the Beta?
According to KS4J, yes! [:)]
How do I hide Jude and 2 Peter?
Mine also automatically updated...please fix this or is there a way to go back to 4.5a?
Mine also automatically updated
Because you were on beta channel, right?
is there a way to go back to 4.5a?
Without the release notes, its hard to answer. You could try downloading the stable app and reinstalling.
Yes, I was on Beta channel, I expect bugs...but not being able to open things is a problem. I will try that, and will have to reconsider beta testing. Thanks!
I will try that, and will have to reconsider beta testing.
Personally, I let others be the guinea pigs… at least until they can tell me that the water is warm. [:)] What I have been doing is setting the update channel to stable once the beta goes live. This ensures that I don't accidentally download a beta before I am ready. I also have two macs. I will generally move one to the beta channel and see how it goes before doing the same to the other.
Can try installing stable 4.5a release, but suspect internal database number was incremented by installing 4.5b Beta 1 (so anticipating Logos 4 Mac message OR crash).
Hence, wiki Mac Troubleshooting => Want to downgrade from Beta to Stable may apply (completely uninstall Beta, followed by installing Stable).
Probably not. Tried to retrieve the stable version from the trash, but received a warning that the application could not be downgraded.
That would be fine if the upgrade was not actually a downgrade.
I know all about the warnings of beta testing—so I do not need any lectures on that subject. What I did not expect was an automatic update that Logos apparently knew was broken.
EPIC FAIL
The "Release" notes say nothing of these issues.
Serious question: what is the point of releasing a beta that doesn't work for anyone?
We have pulled the beta.
For those people running the beta that are experiencing problems more descriptive reports of the problem with logs will help us get a new beta out today.
I enabled one-time logging, but no new log files were generated. So, there isn't anything I can send you.
My problem is that Logos will not sync, so none of my highlights are visible. Also, Logos opens up to previous layout (which it is set to do), but the windows that are open have the column on the left side which shows the contents of the resource. Said column must be manually closed.
Have not noticed other problems, but they may be regards to things that I don't generally use.
That's good. It should never have been released.
more descriptive reports of the problem
As noted here 343916.aspx, menus are broken, as in their contents are empty. Guides and Go menus look normal, but no commands work
with logs will help

Thanks, Alabama. Was able to get through the indexing, however, still no working L4 Mac. Can I now unhide Jude and 2 Peter and will it index properly?
Can I now unhide Jude and 2 Peter and will it index properly?
No, but Logos is aware of the situation and is investigating. I have a thread in the general forum.
Can unhide Jude and 2 Peter, which allows book to be downloaded and opened for reading, but indexer still crashes. Looking forward to Logos 4.5b Beta 2 (hoping for indexer fix plus much more).
This is an issue for everyone on Mac (beta or stable) and we hope to publish a new version of the resource today.

I just got word that we published the new version.

Downloading new version of BEC Jude and Peter plus several more resources, including free Dictionary of Latin Forms plus free Vyrso books (3 today).
Downloading new version of BEC Jude and Peter
Indexing for BEC Jude and 2 Peter completed without crashing. Thanks for fixing resource. [8-|]
Trying to change columns in Morph Search analysis to group results is quite challenging (screen refresh is quite slow when column changes).
Removing a column causes results to disappear:
Edit: my oops about Morph Search results [:$] since @V WITHIN 0 WORDS <LN ~ 88.289-88.318> works, Thanks Todd => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/46344/344475.aspx#344475
Opening a Resource with Table of Contents has directional arrow issue:
...new beta out today.
Is this now beyond the scope of possibility?
I would be happy if they would take the previous stable release, label it as 4.5b Beta 2 and release it as such. That would revert us back to where we were prior to yesterday when Beta 1 was released. Then, whatever changes they have to make they can release as Beta 3. I suspect there probably is some reason why that can't be done. [:)]
I'm wondering too if only a few of us Beta users had this problem? There hasn't been as much chatter as I would have expected if more people had found their Logos installations broken after the update.
Same issue as others: blanked out window, missing menu items, nothing can open in the main window.
Open Logos, try to open something from the library into the main window, try to start a few things from pull down menus, open resource using a floating window.
Oh yeah, all my personal content is completely missing (notes, highlighting, etc.).

Has anyone received any solution as yet. I suffer the same issues as Mike and others.
Thanks,
Ron
Apologies: solved = No. Download for Logos 4.5b Beta 2 interrupted Logos 4.5b Beta 1 rebuild of my library index (due to BEC Jude and 2 Peter issue) so changed automatic downloads to No, installed update and restarted library index creation. Encountered Library index crash using Logos 4.5b Beta 2 so moved three resource files, which had not completed indexing then restarted (again). Noticed have 5.9 MB waiting to download (for the three moved resource files). Plan (hope) for library index creation to complete later today (with 2.5 hours already elapsed, estimating 5.5 more hours). If indexing completes, plan to download three lbxlls files and see if indexer crash (in IndexArticle) repeats.
