Community Wiki

Hi all,
Along with many others I've been excited by the release of Logos version 4. However sometimes finding the right info or getting answers to questions has been difficult. There has been a few posts around suggesting that Logos create a Wiki to ensure users to generate and contribute content to help others. I'm guessing that Logos are probably busy ironing out bugs and dealing with customer services issue right now. So I thought that I would step into the gap and put a temporary wiki in place to help the community out.
At the moment it's pretty sparce but I think that we can easily build it up together as a resource to help one another. In time we can move the content to the official Wiki as and when it appears. I'm thikning that we work together to answer commonly asked questions and to centralise answers or tips - it is not a replacement for these forums but is rather intended to complement them. I'm not in anyway associated with Logos - other than as a customer - I'm sure that they won't mind.
Here is a link to the Wiki:

If you don't know what a Wiki is please read this.
For the moment the Wiki is visible to all but is only editable by collaborators. If you have a user account here and would like to be a collaborator - just email me at meathrel at gmail dot com or message me here. I will add everyone. I thought that doing it this way would reduce the chance of drive by spamming or editing. I hope that everyone is cool with this - if not I will open it up to all.
Hope this is alright with everyone - if not I'm sure the community will let me know.
God bless our endeavour,
Paul

I think (as I've stated in other threads) it's a great idea, though some of the oldtimers with past experience should let us know if this is truly a fools errand.

No problem, it only too a few minutes, but hopefully it will be useful if the community embraces it.

Hi Paul,
The Wiki is an awsome idea!!! Thanks!!!
I understand the reason for limiting contributors. But could I suggest that perhaps there be a feedback link on the wiki to allow users to either flag items that might be incorrect, or to offer new info for expansions.
For example, right now there is a line in there that, if Im not mistaken, is incorrect. The hints pages says "Left and right arrow keys to cycle through all open tabs in a pane"
From what Ive seen the left and right keys cycle the selected tab through some sort of default parallel resources setup inherently in L4... and *not* through tabs in a pane.
Perhaps the statement was correct for earlier beat versions??
Anyway- thanks for the WIKI- Im sure it will end up being a great resoruce for many.

I won't be contributing much (novice) but will use it a lot.
Thanks everyone.

Karl, you're right it doesn't cycle through the tabs in a pane, it cycles through those parallel resources as prioritized in your library.

Thanks Phil for that.
And now guys, it's time to move all the info there. Please, let us not keep 2 wiki sites.

Absolutely, as I mentioned in the original post - the wiki was a temporary measure until logos put something in places. I will transfer some of the material across.

Thomas, hope you catch this. I started going through the WIKI and accompanying FAQ and doing a bit of minor editing. Please review and revise, if you think I got it wrong. For now, I'm attributing my edits with my initials (RDR) to make them easy to find.
I know there's no approval process, but if you agree with my notes and edits, remove my edit notes, or let me know and I'll do it.

Go for it Rich. The beauty of Wiki is that you just fix what you see is broken. Don't worry about tagging your edits, that's easy to see when you click history (or whatever it's called).
