Can I switch from swipe to up and down read mode?
I don't think so. I've never found that option, and I've used the app since iPad 1. You might suggest or see if it's been suggested on Uservoice
Gene - For clarification purposes, are you wanting to change from "page turns" (i.e. swipe) to "scrolling" (i.e. up and down)? That feature isn't available, but others have requested it.
